Ornate Garden - quick & simple
Here are the details for the first project this week using items from the Ornate Garden Suite.
Here are the colours I used for my project. The Crushed Curry element is the centre of the daisy. Unfortunately I am unable to add a graphic for the new colour Bumble Bee at the moment but you can see it in the photos if you look carefully!
Here is the project I made - a really quick and simple one!
To create the Ornate Garden card
21 cm x 10.5 cm scored at 14.5 cm WW thick
14 cm x 5 cm strip of Ornate Garden Speciality DSP
1.5 cm wide strips of Ornate Garden SPeciality DSP (inside and envelope)
WW thick card for punching and die cutting
To create the decorative elements
I used the large daisy image from Daisy Lane, stamping twice with Mint Macaron ink. Punch out with the Large Daisy Punch.
I used my favourite Stitched Shape dies to cut out the largest circle.
For the sentiment I used a stamp from Label Me Bold and Mint Macaron ink on a scrap of thick ww.
To assemble the Ornate Garden card
I used double sided tape to adhere the piece of DSP to the front of the card. The die cut circle was adhered with dimensionals.
I used the end of my poky tool to curl and shape the daisies. I adhered the two flowers together and then added a dimensional to adhere to the centre of the circle.
I used a fluffy thing for the centre of the flower. I had forgotten I had these Perennial Essence Flower Centers - not used them for ages. It was perfect for this project.
I snipped the 'thank you' sentiment and added it with mini dimensionals.
I used strips of DSP to decorate the inside of the card and the envelope.
Here is the completed card and envelope.
The layout I used for this card is a really useful one. It works for portrait and landscape cards and, its a good way of using up all that DSP we all hoard too!
