Snowflake Splendour - Gift Card Holder
Hello, I'm back again sharing details of another project made with items from the Snowflake Splendour Suite. Seems a bit daft showcasing projects with snowflakes when it's a hot and sunny 32 degrees but we have to have Christmas in July projects don't we!
I will be making a couple more of these gift card holders and will make a slightly different version for my Christmas Gift Vouchers this year too. Misty Moonlight is such a lovely colour and pairs so well with Night of Navy. I am definitely a 'blue' girl!
Thank you so much for looking at my Blog today, if you don't have a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator and you live in the UK, I would love to be yours!
If you need to order any supplies, simply use my “shop with me” button or click on the catalogue links on the right. Alternatively, contact me and I would be happy to place an order for you.
If you would like a copy of either of the current Annual Catalogue let me know and I will pop one in the post for you. If you prefer, you can view an online version by clicking the link to the right of this post. Also, the August - December mini catalogue will be available very soon - if you would like a copy of either catalogue, let me know!
Would you like to receive a FREE gift from me? All orders placed directly with me or online receive a handmade card from me as a thank you but did you know that all orders over £20 (excluding postage) will receive a gift from me too? If you use the current Hostess Code I will pop something in with your order or post directly to you. (Please remember to allow me to access your contact details otherwise I won't be able to contact you).
If your order is over £150 please don't use the code as you will receive your own Stampin' Rewards. You will still receive a card and a gift from me.
If you are local to me and can collect, I’m happy for you to piggyback one of my orders to save on postage.
Thank you for shopping with me and supporting my business.
Here is my project:
A really useful gift card holder. I do sometimes give gift cards but they definitely need prettying up to make them a bit more exciting don't they?
The colours I used:
You will need:
11" x 4 1/4" Misty Moonlight
3 3/4" x 2 3/4" Night of Navy
3 3/4" x 2 3/4" Designer Series Paper (DSP) x 2
2 3/4" x 2 3/4" DSP x 2
3 1/2" x 2 1/2" ww regular
1" strip of DSP
Small pieces of Night of Navy and ww for die cutting
Cutting and scoring:
On the long edge score at 3" and 7". Score at 1 1/4" on the short edge.
The stamping:
Stamp the sentiment across the top of the ww panel with Misty Moonlight ink. I used the largest Water Painter and some ink squidged into the lid to add a swoosh of colour across the bottom.
I stamped the small cluster of snowflakes on top once the water had dried using Misty Moonlight.
I used stamped the larger cluster of snowflakes along the flap for a coordinated look.
The die cutting:
Cut a couple of snowflakes; one from ww and the other from Night of Navy card.
To assemble:
Adhere the DSP using Tombow - I like the wriggle room you get with glue for this project to make sure all the DSP is evenly lined up.
Adhere the stamped panel to the Night of Navy piece using double sided tape and adhere to the wallet with Tombow.
Round the corner of the flap and then adhere using a tiny line of Tombow as shown below.
Top Tip #1
The gift card holder closes and looks much neater if you snip a tiny sliver from the edge shown below.
Adhere the 1" strip of dsp using Tombow to the piece of card that was trimmed off earlier.
Wrap around the gift card holder - it is better to have the belly band a little loose otherwise it won't come off.
Top Tip #2
Adhere the two ends of the belly band with Tombow. Position a pair of Snips or a bone folder so that the band is still a snug fit but is able to slip off easily to reveal the contents.
Adhere the two snowflakes with a mini dimensional and add to the centre of the belly band with a dab of Tombow. I added one of these lovely Blue Gems to to the centre for a bit of sparkle.
The completed project:
I chose not to put my gift card holder into an envelope but you could if you wanted to. It would look nice if you decorated the envelope with a swoosh of ink and more stamped snowflakes as I did for our first project this week.
Don't forget to add the gift card!
Have a crafty weekend.
