Snowflake Wishes - quick & simple

Hello, I have two lovely projects to share with you today using items from the soon to be available Snowflake Splendour Suite.

This fabulous suite contains a stamp and die bundle called Snowflake Wishes and I love it a lot!  I will probably use the items in suite this for my personal Christmas cards this year - that's how much I love it!

Traditionally for my Coffee & Cards sessions I do one 'Christmas in July' week - only just made it this year!

My projects today are clean and simple cards that also use the Playful Alphabet Dies that can be found on page 100 of the Annual Catalogue.  I'm also excited to be using Misty Moonlight and, the item I was most excited to see in the Annual Catalogue!

These little alphabet dies are so useful, just the perfect size for creating cards and home decor pieces with.

Here are my projects:

I got a bit carried away and also created a portrait version too!

The colours I used:
You could of course use more than one colour for the background; perhaps different shades of blue - the possibilities are endless (depending on the inks you have in your collection of course).

You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm ww thick - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm ww thick
ww thick for die cutting

The background:
I mentioned above that I was very excited to discover a brand new item in the Annual Catalogue; these Water Painters were at the very top of my wish list!

Craftyduckydoodah, Water Painters, Stampin' Up,

These pens hold water for easy and mess free watercolouring.  Three pens in a pack; 1 fine tip, 1 medium tip and best of all - a large flat brush tip!

I used the large brush tip to paint a background of Misty Moonlight on the thick ww panels.

The die cutting:
I used a piece of ww thick and cut out the letters I needed.  I adhered the card to the back of a piece of Foam Adhesive Sheet and ran through my Big Shot.

What a fabulous idea these sheets are; can you imagine how fiddly it would be to cut tiny pieces of dimensionals to put on the back of the letters and the snowflake?

The sentiment:
I used my Stamparatus to position the sentiment and stamped with Misty Moonlight ink.

To assemble:
I scuffed the edges of the panel but you could miss this step out if you are not a scuffer.  Adhere the panel to the card with dimensionals and then adhere the letters and the snowflake.

The finishing touches:
I added some of the lovely and soon to be available Blue Adhesive Backed Gems.

I have a feeling I will be using these glittery faceted gems a lot of these, they have a lovely iridescent sheen and come in two colours - Balmy Blue and Night of Navy.

The inside/envelope:
I had some ink left so I used it to create a wash of colour on the inside of the card and the envelope.  I then stamped lots of snowflakes along the inky border using Misty Moonlight ink.

The finished project:

I enjoyed making these quick and simple cards - they would be great for batch making, especially if you use the Stamparatus too!
