This month our theme is Autumn/Halloween. As Autumn is my favourite time of the year I decided to pull a favourite stamp set off my shelf that I have not used for ages called Winter Woods. I have been using this stamp set a lot recently; this is my third post using this set this week!
Here is my project:
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm ww thick - scored at 10.5 cm
12 cm x 9 cm ww thick
10.5 cm x 14 cm brushed copper card
ww thick scrap for the sentiment
The die cutting:
I used one of my favourite Stitched Rectangle die to cut a panel from ww thick card. I used the same sized die and the next largest to create a frame from brushed foil card. Save the smaller rectangle to use on another project. I used a scrap of foil to cut the curved shape that forms the ground using the coordinating In The Woods dies.
The stamping and colouring:
I stamped the trees onto the stitched rectangle using Stazon ink.
The panel on the left has been coloured with sponge daubers. It was a bit tricky to control where the ink went and, I felt it lacked Autumnal vibrancy.
To assemble:
I decided that I preferred the water coloured panel. Attach the copper ground piece to the panel using Tombow then attach the copper frame to the card front again using Tombow. I then adhered the stamped panel using dimensionals.
The sentiment:
The inside/envelope:
I stamped a partial image on both the inside of the card and the envelope.
The completed project:
The copper frame has such a lovely shine to it that enhances the colours I used for the trees.
Obviously, I won't waste the other coloured panel - I will do something with it at some point! Looking at the photo above I may make another version of this card using copper embossing for the trees. As ever, so many ideas, so little time!
I hope you enjoyed my project - next up is Cindy who has more inspiration to share with us.
