In The Pines - Kre8tors Blog Hop

Hello, I am delighted to be hopping again with this talented team of papercrafters for a special Kre8tors Blog Hop, coming together once again just for this special time of the year.

This month our theme is 'holiday' which can be interpreted in many different ways - I decided to focus on Christmas!

I have been using a bundle all this week called In The Pines and, as this bundle is sadly retiring I thought I had better use it again!

Craftyduckydoodah, In The Pines, Stampin' Up, Christmas 2020,

This is such a lovely bundle, I will be sad to see it retire but of course excited as it will make way for lots of lovely new products.

Here is my project:

Craftyduckydoodah, In The Pines, Stampin' Up, Christmas 2020,

The colours I used:

You will need:

21 cm x 14.5 cm ww thick - scored at 10.5 cm

10 cm x 14 cm ww thick

14 cm x 3 cm strip of ww thick

Small piece of ww thick for stamping and die cutting and scraps for the sentiment

The background:

Stamp a row of trees across the centre of the thick ww panel with Coastal Cabana ink.  I used a Stampin' Write Marker (Pretty Peacock) to create some snow, flicking the wide tip against the innside of the lid.  I also used the little dotty snow image from this set with Bermuda Bay ink to create some larger dots of snow.  I used my Pool Party (Light) Stampin' Blend to 'draw' a line along the bottom of the trunks to ground them so that they don't look like they are floating in mid air!

Craftyduckydoodah, In The Pines, Stampin' Up, Christmas 2020,

Die cut a snowy mound from ww thick card and adhere along the bottom edge of the stamped panel with dimensionals.

I cut a strip of this lovely metallic mesh ribbon in half and wrapped around the panel, adhering on the reverse with double sided tape.

Adhere the panel to the card base with dimensionals.

Stamp three trees and cut out with the coordinating dies.  I stamped the larger tree with Pretty Peacock and the two smaller trees with Bermuda Bay.

To assemble:

Adhere the trees using dimensionals, tucking the ends of the trunks underneath the snowy mounds.

The sentiment:

I used Pretty Peacock in to stamp the sentiment onto a scrap of ww thick card.  Trim and adhere with diemensionals.  (The sentiment is from a stamp set called Peace & Joy).

The finishing touch:

I tied a bow wish the mesh ribbon - the ribbon holds its shape really well. Adhere with a mini glue dot.

The inside/envelope:

I decorated the envelope and the inside of the card with a row of trees stamped in Coastal Cabana ink.

The completed project:

I resisted the temptation to go mad and add lots of glitter - I think I am all glittered out this year!  What do you think, should I revisit and add some glitter?

Craftyduckydoodah, In The Pines, Stampin' Up, Christmas 2020,

Next up is Jan Musselman from the USA who has another fabulous project to share with us.
