Handsomely Suited - Ink Stamp Share

Hello and welcome to another Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop.  If you have hopped over from Alison Carter or are starting the hop with me, this month we are making cards with men in mind.  I will be using a stamp and die bundle called Handsomely Suited for my project.

I confess I have had the Handsomely Suited bundle for some time but never had the chance to use it until now.  Cards for men can be tricky can't they?  Fortunately this bundle provides lots of options.

Here is my project:
A quick and simple project (I was short of time this week sigh) with lots of white space.

You will need:

21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) scored at 10.5 cm

10 cm x 14 cm BWT

BWT for stamping

Smoky Slate scrap

Basic Black scraps

1cm strips of Designer Series Paper (DSP)

The background:

I used what I think is my favourite embossing folder - Tasteful Textures to emboss the panel of BWT.  This lovely embossing folder adds depth and dimension to cardstock and always looks effective.  In my mind, I was creating a crisp white shirt.

The stamping and die cutting:

I used Smoky Slate ink to stamp two ties onto BWT card.  You will need to stamp the complete tie and then just the top section to create the knot.  Cut out with the coordinating dies.

The third tie (middle) has been cut from the Well Suited DSP.

Top Tip:

Choose carefully where you place the die; think about how the pattern will look.  Is it symmetrical?  If not, it will look odd!  I used a piece of washi tape to hold the die in place to make sure I cut the section of DSP that I wanted.

To assemble:

Adhere the embossed background to the card front with dimensionals.  Adhere the ties with Tombow making sure that they are evenly spaced.  Add the top knots with a dimensional.

The sentiment:

I used a Stitched Rectangle die and Smoky Slate card, the sentiment has been stamped with Memento and adhered to the card front with dimensionals.

The detail:

I love to make my own embellishments for my projects.  The tiny buttons have been cut from a scrap of Basic Black card.  This clever little die cuts six buttons at a time so no need for multiple passes through a die cutting machine!

I used tiny dabs of Tombow and adhered three buttons on top of each other.  I then adhered a button on each side of the sentiment.

The inside/envelope:

I cut 1 cm strips of DSP and adhered on the inside of the card and the envelope with Tombow.

Here is the completed project:

I really enjoyed making this project so I decided to make a different version using the fabulous Rainbow Glimmer Paper.

You can see on the photo below the effect you get when you adhere a stack of tiny buttons - I used four.

Craftyduckydoodah, Stampin' Up, Handsomely Suited, Ink Stamp Share,

I was pleased to discover that the Handsomely Suited stamps, dies and this lovely glimmer paper will still be with us in the next Annual Catalogue.  Hopefully I will get the chance/time to play with them again!

Next up is Jill Chapman who has another male themed project idea to share with us.

Thanks for hopping along with us, if you get lost along the way a list of hoppers can be found below.
