Love Of Leaves - Stampers Showcase
Hello and welcome to another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop. I will be using one of my favourite stamps sets - Love Of Leaves for my project.
If you are starting the hop here with me at Craftyducky HQ or have hopped over from my creative friend Mo Rootes, welcome - we have lots of inspiration to share with you. Our theme this month is Autumn/Fall/Halloween. Autumn is my absolute favourite time of the year and, for once, this was an easy theme for me!
I decided to revisit a favourite stamp set of mine called Love of Leaves. Any stamp set with leaves is always on my crafty wish list, anything with stitches is right at the top!
Here is my project:I used Very Vanilla for this project which is unusual for me - I can't even remember the last time I used it.
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm 14.5 cm Evening Evergreen - scored at 10.5 cm
10 m x 14 cm Crumb Cake x 2
8 cm x 12 cm Very Vanilla
Piece of Basic White Thick (BWT) for the leaves
The background:
I used Crumb Cake ink to stamp an assortment of leaves around the edge of one of the Crumb Cake pieces of card.
Background 2:
I love this stitched line border die! The sentiment has been stamped with Evening Evergreen. I then adhered a piece of this lovely Chevron Weave Ribbon across the front of the panel adhering on the reverse with double sided tape.
The stamping and die cutting:
I stamped an assortment of leaves. I did stamp quite a few as I was not sure what effect I wanted for my project. I used a sponge dauber to add additional colour to some of the leaves. The leaves have been die cut with the border die and the stitched detail dies.
To assemble:
Adhere the Crumb Cake background to the card front using Tombow then adhere the second background using dimensionals.
To assemble the bunch of leaves I first adhered the three single coloured leaves using Tombow.
Top Tip:
I trimmed the stalks a little so that I could tuck the ends under the ribbon for a neater finish.
I then added the multi coloured leaf with dimensionals (again trimming the stem).
The finishing touches:
I added three Gilded Gems for a bit of sparkle. The gold gems make a nice change from rhinestones and are perfect for this time of year. I will still not happy with my project so I took another piece of ribbon which I tied in a simple knot and adhered with a glue dot.
The inside/envelope:
I stamped a simple border on the second piece of Crumb Cake card using the same colour ink. I stamped the envelope to match too.
The completed project:
I hope you enjoyed my project, it has been some time since I have been able to find crating time. This card is on its way to a friend who lives at the top of a tree lined valley. The view from the house is always amazing but even more so at this time of the year.
Thanks for hopping along with us.
Susan xx
