Boughs & Blossoms - Stamping INKSpirations
Hello and welcome to the latest Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop. I will be using the Boughs & Blossoms bundle for my project.
If you are joining our hop here with me at Craftyducky HQ, or you have hopped over from Jill Chapman - welcome we have lots of ideas and inspiration to share this month with a colour challenge as our theme.
I needed a card today for a friend with whom I will be celebrating a special birthday with later this evening. My friend loves flowers of all kinds so the Boughs & Blossoms bundle was the perfect choice to create a card for her.
Here is my project:
I use this layout a lot - it never lets me down no matter what stamp set I am using!
All of them of course!
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm BWT
2.5 cm x 10 cm BWT
BWT for stamping and punching
The background
I used the Timeworn Type embossing folder to add texture to the BWT panel.
The punching:
I punched out several sprigs from BWT. I then used a water painter with Garden Green ink to add colour to each sprig. Once the first layer of ink was dry I added a vein down the centre of each leaf again using the same ink. I love how you can create your own embellishments using this technique. No two sprigs look the same!
The stamping:
I used the four remaining challenge colours to stamp an assortment of flowers and fussy cut them out. I curled each petal for added dimension.
The sentiment:
I have a new favourite sentiment!! This lovely 'happy birthday' is from a new stamp set called Flowing Flowers. The sentiment has been stamped using Memento ink.
Adhere the embossed panel to the card base using dimensionals. Decide on the layout and then adhere the sprigs using dabs of Tombow on the end of each stem. The sentiment has been adhered across the front of the card also using dimensionals.
I then adhered the flowers using both dimensionals and Tombow. As a finishing touch I added several of the lovely iridescent rhinestones around the flowers and in the centre of some of the flowers.
The inside/envelope:
I adhered a flower and a sprig to the inside of the card.
As I had a flower and a sprig remaining, I adhered them to the envelope flap to give a hint as to what is inside the envelope. Think about where you add the adhesive!!
The completed project:
I was quite pleased with my last minute project - I hope my friend likes her card!
Next up is Terry Hamilton- I can't wait to see how many of the challenge colours she used for her project!
