Flowing Flowers - Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Stampin' Dreams Blog Hop! It has been some time since I have been able to join one of these hops and I'm looking forward to seeing what everyone has created.

Our theme this month is 'florals'. One of my favourite stamp sets at the moment is Flowing Flowers. Perhaps not the most exciting stamp in the January - June mini catalogue and one that you may even have overlooked.

Flowing Flowers is a Distinktive stamp set, it has a special texture that gives added depth and dimension to these lovely floral images. The sentiments in this set are my current favourite and most used ones!

Here is my project:

I wasn't sure where I was going with this project to start with but these lovely images are a joy to play with and this arrangement fell into place quite naturally.

The colours I used:

I used soft, pretty colours for my project but I think any colours would look good.

You will need:

21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 10.5 cm

10 cm x 14 cm BWT

BWT for stamping and die cutting

The background:

I used Daffodil Delight and Fresh Freesia ink to stamp the flower images. I then used the Basic Gray Stampin' Write Marker to add some flecks of colour. I love scuffed edges, so I scuffed!

The stamping, punching and fussy cutting:

I stamped a selection of flowers and fussy cut them out. I cut out some leaves using a die from Greenhouse Dies from BWT card.

Top tip:

I used Pear Pizazz ink for the leaves. I cut the leaves out and left extra card around the base of each piece. This allows you to add glue and tuck under the flowers so that you see more of the leaves.

To assemble:

Adhere the stamped panel to the card base with dimensionals. I curled and shaped all the flowers and leaves using my bone folder. Adhere the larger flowers with dimensionals and then add the smaller flowers also adhering with dimensionals. The remaining leaves have been tucked under the flowers adhered with Tombow on the ends of each stem.

The sentiment:

This lovely 'handwritten' sentiment has been stamped onto a scrap of BWT with Memento ink. I also added some splatters and scuffed the edges before adhering with dimensionals.

The inside/envelope:

I stamped several of the smaller flower images along the inside edge of the card adding some light splatters to coordinate with the card front. I decorated the front of the envelope in the same way.

The details:

Distinkstive stamps are so pretty and I love the photo realistic images. One of the images in this stamp also has grungy dots which gave me the idea to add ink splatters and scuff the edges.

The completed project:

I really like how this project turned out, I did think about adding some sparkle/jewels or even some ribbon but I resisted! I think I will make more using different colours. I like to have a stack of cards without sentiments ready for those times when you need a card in a hurry don't you?
