Happiness Abounds - Ink Stamp Share
Hello and welcome to the latest Ink Stamp Share Blog Hop where we are sharing projects that we are currently working on. I am really enjoying playing/working with a new bundle called Happiness Abounds.
I also like the sentiments - I do like mixed font sentiments, do you? Even better the dies cut out images from the coordinating Designer Series Paper too. Stampin' Up! are so clever at this sort of thing!
Here is my project:
A clean and simple project with lots of white space, the fabulous DSP does most of the work!
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm BWT
8 cm x 11 cm DSP
2 cm x 10 cm DSP
1.5 cm x 13.5 cm x 2
The background:
I used this fabulous die to create a background, cutting out from the panel of BWT card. This die is rather clever, not all the elements pop out after die cutting! The pieces that remain can be lifted up to create extra dimension of you can simply leave them in place.
I then adhered the piece of DSP to the back of the panel using Tombow.
The sentiment:
I used Memento ink to stamp the sentiment on the bottom of the die cut panel.
The stamping. colouring and die cutting:
I used Mango Melody ink to stamp a single flower on to a scrap of BWT card and cut out with the coordinating die. I then coloured with the Mango Melody Stampin' Blends. I used the dark blend first, highlighting areas of shade and then coloured over the whole image with the light blend to blend the colours together using a soft swirling motion.
I stamped the leaves with Granny Apple Green ink and used the same coloured blends as above before die cutting.
Top tip:Images don't have to be stamped with Memento black ink so that you can colour with the blends! Using the same colour ink as the blends creates a softer look.
To assemble:
Adhere the background to the card front with dimensionals. Adhere the strip of DSP across the front of the card using Tombow.
Adhere the flower with dimensionals and then curl and shape the leaves and tuck under the flower adhering with Tombow.
The finishing touch:
I added some of the pretty Iridescent Rhinestones for a bit of sparkle!
The inside/envelope:
I used leftover strips of DSP to decorate the inside and the envelope adhering them with Tombow.
The completed project:
I love how the background die allows you to see the colours from the DSP and adds to the overall effect of the background. I have another Blog Hop tomorrow and will be using Happiness Abounds for that project too!
Next up is Jo Blackman, I can't wait to see her project! Just click on her name below mine to continue the hop. Thanks for hopping along with us, I hope you enjoy our projects.
