Stampin' Up! Butterfly Basics for Mother's Day!
Hello, I was asked last week by Donna, the owner of one of the venues for my Coffee & Card sessions if I would make a card for her Mum for Mother's Day.
Her Mum (Debbie) loved the card I made for her birthday a few weeks ago so much that she specially asked Donna if I would be able to make her another one.
Happy to oblige, the only criteria was that the card must have a butterfly on it and be pink!
I confess I was a little short on time and was wondering what to make when I remembered a card I made way back in November 2015 - you can see it here.
I updated the original by using different colored ink different inks.
I'm not a fan of flat items on cards - I love how you can curl and shape cardstock to give dimension.
I embossed a piece of vellum using the Lovely Lace embossing folder. I really like the effect you get with vellum, it always looks impressive!
A small strip of DSP from the Neutrals stack across the middle adds a bit of oomph, I knew Donna would like this as she has a bit of a thing for black and white. If you ever visit the Grand Piano Cafe in Godmanchester you will know what I mean!
Here is the completed card and envelope.
Donna loved the card and I hope that her Mum does too.
My daughter will popping round later today with a card - I wonder if it will be homemade? ;)
Wherever you are, whether you are a Mum, Grandma, or a special Aunty I hope you have a lovely day.
Can you guess why I chose this particular image? I know, it is sad - because the tulips remind me of Sweet Sugarplum lol!
Thanks for looking at my Blog. Details of the products I used can be found below.
