Stampin' Up! Animal Outing for Stamp N Hop #4

Hello, welcome to the fourth Stamp N Hop blog hop - we are a group of Demonstrators from around the world sharing our love of all things Stampin' Up!  This month our theme is 'Annual Catalogue pre order'.

#lovemyjob, #stampinupuk, Animal Outing, Bird Banter, Craftyduckydoodah!, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Stamp 'N Hop,

Whether you are starting here with me or following on from Linda, welcome and thanks for hopping along with us!

I'm sharing a very special card with you today - I'm using a brand new stamp set called Animal Outing that will be available when the Annual Catalogue launches on June 2nd.

I have been making cards in this style for my daughter for the last few years now, she would not be happy if she received a 'normal' card.  I am not entirely sure what these cards are called, perhaps box cards?  If you know, please tell me!

I was delighted to learn that Mossy Meadow would be rejoining the Stampin' Up! colour family and even more so, when I discovered I still had a pack of cardstock in my crafty stash!

I used some of the stunning Share What You Love DSP too - it is a perfect match for Mossy Meadow and the cute animals in this stamp set.

The card is so easy to assemble - you must try one of these box cards.  You can find instructions in a post of mine from way back in 2015 here.

I had lots of fun colouring in these animals.  When Animal Outing launches in June it will be available as a bundle with the Animal Friends Thinlits Dies.  Unfortunately I don't have the thinlits yet ... so I had to fussy cut my animals. Needless to say, they will be at the top of my wish list!

Once the card is assembled it was time for some fun.  I used the retired Botanical Blooms Framelits to create some jungle leaves in a mix of Lemon Lime Twist, Old Olive and Mossy Meadow.

I used a variety of Stampin' Blends to colour the images - they make colouring and blending so easy.

I had some birds left from a recent coffee & cards session when we used a stamp set called Bird Banter.  This lovely stamp set will sadly be retiring at the end of this month - at the time of writing this post, it is still available ...

The branch with the frog is from Animal Outing too.

I could not resist adding one of my favourite parrots (Bird Banter) and used a branch die from Seasonal Layers for him to perch on.

I am a little concerned as to why there is a Koala in the Kangaroo's pouch - maybe it was just hitching a ride?

This is what the card looks like from above - you can see all the insert panels ...

I created a panel for the back of the box so that I could write a birthday message.

Here is the completed box card.

Thankfully Rosie loved her card and it joined the others like it on the shelf in her bedroom.  When Rosie was younger she had difficulty saying rhinoceros so, in our family its known as rhoceros!

If you haven't tried a box card before I would recommend you give one a go - be warned they are addictive as there are so many possibilities with this style of card.  The best thing is, it folds flat so it will fit into an envelope!

I had a bit of a play recently with a new App I have just found on my laptop - I used it to make a short film - with music!!  Not bad for a first attempt, even if I do say so myself.  Thanks to Bev, one of my team members who helped me to load it onto here.

Thank you so much  for joining us on our fourth hop - click the 'Next' button below to head on over to see what Joanne has been doing.  If you get lost along the way, a list of hop participants can be found below.

You can find details of the products I used for this project below, if you have any questions, please get in touch - I am always happy to help.

Don't forget to leave comments  - we would all love to know what you think of our projects!

Happy Crafting!
