Needle & Thread - quick & simple
Have you ever tried inking up embossing folders? It is a lot of fun and you can create lots of different effects.
For our projects this week we are using white craft ink. This ink a very useful addition to your crafty stash. You can use this white pigment ink for embossing or for creating an opaque look on dark card stock.
Using white craft ink on embossing folders creates an interesting effect too; using it on Crumb Cake card stock totally transforms it!
For this project I inked up the folder on the side with 'Sizzix' on the front.
This ink takes a little longer to dry than usual. The sample on the left has dried fully - you can see above that the ink also fades slightly as it dries.
We white embossed a single piece of Crumb Cake and cut down to use on both our projects this week.
We stamped a selection of flowers using Balmy Blue and Night of Navy ink and die cut some leaves from Old Olive card.
Once dried, we wrapped some Old Olive ribbon around the piece of embossed card and adhered to the front of the card.
The sentiment has been tucked under the flowers and a jewel added to the centre of the flower for a bit of sparkle.
A trio of tiny butterflies has been stamped on the inside of the card - to cover up a splodge of ink!
Here is the completed card and envelope.
I have one final C & C session this week, if you would like to join me to make this card and another project, you can all find the details here. Don't forget that if you place a £25 plus order on Thursday you can craft for free!
Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.
Hope you can join me for a crafty coffee soon.
