Floral Essence - stepped up

Hello, here are the details for our final project this week using Floral Essence.

We created a background panel for our card using a piece of thick Whisper White cut 5mm smaller than the base.

We used Seaside Spray ink and stamped the medium and small flowers from this stamp set around the edges.

The panel was then embossed with the Scripty embossing folder.  We wrapped two pieces of linen thread around the panel and then adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

The first project I made I did not emboss the panel - the idea just popped into my head whilst I was taking my photographs so, I made another card!

It does make a difference to the look of the finished card.  The stamped flowers  on the right  look slightly darker than the embossed ones.

We used my favourite Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out two panels using Seaside Spray and Whisper White card stock.

We used a sentiment from Forever Lovely, stamped with Crumb Cake ink and also stamped three leaves in the bottom corner of the white rectangle with the same ink.

We stamped a medium and a small flower onto thick card and fussy cut them out.  A centre has been stamped in Crumb Cake on the smaller flower.  The flowers were layered up with dimensionals.

We also stamped three leaves in Crumb Cake and punched them out. The leaves have been curled and shaped and adhered with a dab of Tombow on the end of each stem.

A tiny double bow was added as a finishing touch.   Here is the finished card.

We used the medium and small flowers again to stamp a border on the inside of the card and down the side of the envelope - so pretty!

As I mentioned above, I made two versions of this project and, as ever, can't decide which I like best!  Only one of my crafty ladies this week chose not to emboss her background panel.

I knew when I was designing this project that the background reminded me of something - figured out it was, a blouse I bought a few years ago from Phase Eight.  Just goes to show, inspiration is all around us, in this case quite literally!!

Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  I was delighted this afternoon to be joined by one of my favourite crafty ladies from a local care home.  She came with her daughter to craft at my home.  We had scones, fresh strawberries and clotted cream.  Pat came up with a brilliant idea; she adhered the leaves between the petal of her flower.  Why did I not think of that?  It looks brilliant!!
