Rooted In Nature - quick & simple
Here are the details for our first project this week using a stamp set called Rooted In Nature.
We used the Whisper White note cards for our project this week. The tree stump has been stamped on the front of the card using second generation Smoky Slate ink.
I cut up a post it note to masks the image and then used the splodge from Beauty Abounds with Pool Party ink using a mix of first and second generation ink. Although I covered most of the splatters with leaves you can just see some peaking out on the right of this photo.
We then stamped assorted leaves using first and second generation Smoky Slate ink and cut them out with the coordinating dies.
We used a sponge dauber to add extra colour using Pool Party and Bermuda Bay inks.
On some of the leaves I used the splatter stamp too. The leaves were curled and shaped then arranged and adhered using Tombow and dimensionals. We used the Frosted Bouquet dies to cut a sprig from Pool Party cardstock and adhered it with a dab of Tombow on the end of the stem.
The sentiment (Perennial Birthday) was stamped onto a 2.5cm strip of thick Whisper White card using Smoky Slate. It was then adhered across the front of the card with dimensionals.
The inside of the card and the envelope have been stamped to coordinate. The splodge image from Beauty Abounds has been stamped over the the leaf using Bermuda Bay ink.

This morning at Coffee & Cards I decided to make a slightly different version of this project.
I may just have got a bit carried away with the splodges, perhaps because I still miss Gorgeous Grunge!
Obviously, I can't decide which version I like best! You will be able to choose which version you would like to make if you join me on Tuesday or Thursday afternoon. Or, perhaps you have an alternative idea/layout you would like to try out?
