Rooted In Nature - stepped up
Here are the details for our second project this week using a stamp set called Rooted In Nature. I have to say that I LOVE this card - white on white projects are just my thing I guess!
This project started with a panel of thick WW card 5mm smaller than the card base.
We used the branch image and stamped four times to create a background using second generation Smoky Slate ink.
We then used something new and wonderful!! Delicata Ink in Celestial Copper - it certainly proved a big hit with my crafty ladies this week.
Hopefully you can see on the photo above just how rich and radiant this ink is - just like it has been embossed.
We then used the coordinating dies to cut the leaves out. We used one of the embossing dies and some silver foil card stock to emboss and cut out a different leaf. The white sprigs are from a die set called Frosted Bouquet.
The lovely sentiment which, I will be using a lot this year, is from a new stamp set called Playful Penguins.
The panel was then adhered to the card base with dimensionals.
The rest of the leaves have been adhered using a mix of Tombow and dimensionals. A trio of jewels adds a bit more sparkle.
Here is the completed card and envelope. The leaf branch has also been stamped on the envelope and the inside of the card.
Over the course of each week lucky me gets to make several of each project. I have been doing daft/silly things recently (thanks Lyme Disease) but sometimes these turn into happy accidents.
On Tuesday I stamped on the wrong side of the WW panel so I decided to scuff the edges - I do love scuffed edges! In fact, this turned out to be more popular than my original design.
I took things one step further and added some Platinum Stickles Glitter Glue around the edges for even more WOW factor. Doesn't it look pretty?
Here are three versions of this project. (This project has been used by my crafty ladies for a Birthday card and an Anniversary card too this week by using different sentiments).
Thanks to everyone who joined me this week. I will share projects for next week sometime over the weekend. Please note I will only be able to offer one session next week on Tuesday afternoon as I will be undergoing surgery to remove a fast growing lump from my breast. Depending on how I feel, all will be back to normal the following week.
Have a crafty weekend.
