Feels Like Frost - Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop.  We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who love to share our crafty creations.  This month we have been asked to choose our favourite suite from the Autumn / Winter catalogue.

My choice was really easy for a change - as soon as I got my hands on the catalogue the Feels Like Frost Suite (page 41) was calling my name!

I was so excited when my order arrived that I dove right in and decided to recreate of the cards shown above (with a tweak or two)!

My project started with a thick Whisper White card base measuring 10.5 cm x 29 cm, scored at 14.5cm.

I cut a panel of Sahara Sand card measuring 14 cm x 10 cm and, a strip of vellum measuring 3 cm x 13.5 cm which was then adhered across the centre of the panel.

I wrapped a length of Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon around the panel and then adhered to the card base with dimensionals.  I tied a small bow too which was added as a finishing touch later on.

Next, a real WOW item - the stunning Feels Like Frost Speciality Designer Series Paper (DSP).  These 6" x 6" papers feature the most amazing photographic images on one side and hand drawn images on the reverse that have been foiled in silver.  The photographic images are so amazing, I think they would look good in a frame just as they are!

I used one of the frames from the Frosted Frames dies and a piece of DSP and then stamped a sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed with white Stampin' Emboss Powder.

I used the new Shimmer Crystal Effects and the Ice Stampin' Glitter around the die cut DSP.  This new, chunkier glitter looks just like snow and ice and is perfect for embellishing the DSP (and other things too).

Top Tip
I used the Shimmery Crystal Effects to adhere the glitter,  I have since used it Tombow and it works just as well.  It seems a shame to waste the sparkle in the Crystal Effects so I will save mine for other projects.

As soon as the glitter was dry I adhered the panel to the card front using dimensionals.  The bow has been adhered with a mini glue dot.

I used another new product, the Silver Shimmer Delicata ink pad to stamp a cluster of snowflakes along the flap of the envelope and across the bottom of the inside of the card.

This ink is amazing - it looks like the snowflakes have been heat embossed and, although tricky to photograph, you will get an idea of the shimmer below ...

I absolutely love the Feels Like Frost Suite, so much so that I then went on to make several more cards.  I will be using the Feels Like Frost Suite at my forthcoming Stamp a Stack event towards the end of October.  There are just a couple of places left, if you are interested you can find the details HERE.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Next up is Sue Vine in Australia - I can't wait to see what she has to share with us!

Thanks for hopping along with us!

Susan xx
