Playful Penguins - quick & simple
Hello, here are the details for our first project this week using a stamp set called Playful Penguins.
This is truly a quick & simple project and is my sort of card! The penguin images in this stamp set are simply stunning. In years gone by you would have had to use three step stamping to achieve such results - clever Stampin' Up!
Starting with a note card we used an aqua painter and some Coastal Cabana ink to add a simple wash on one side of the card.
Top Tip
Don't swish the aqua painter around too much as the card will pill.
We then used Memento ink to stamp this lovey sentiment and Coastal Cabana ink to stamp something for the penguin to stand on. At my C & C session this afternoon we could not decide whether it was a bank or a pool!
The penguin has also been stamped with Memento ink and fussy cut out. We then stamped a scarf in Real Red and cut that out too.
The penguin and the scarf have been adhered with dimensionals.
We used a few of these tiny little snowflakes ...
... there are around 750 sequins in this little pot and they provided the perfect finishing touch. They were adhered with fine-tip glue - fiddly but worth the effort as they are so pretty!
The inside of the card, and the envelope have been stamped to coordinate.
Here is the completed card and envelope.
As I was photographing this project I had a though; I should have added some silver metallic thread too! So today, I did!
I removed the back from the dimensionals on the penguin, wound the thread around three fingers a few times and placed onto the sticky dimensional before adhering to the card. So, would you add the thread or not?
I have one final Coffee & Cards session this week on Thursday afternoon. You can find the details HERE. If you place a £25+ order on Thursday you can craft for FREE! Don't forget to let me know you are coming so I can prepare a kit for you!
Will you choose to add the silver thread or not I wonder?
Happy crafting!
