Colorful Seasons - Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge #JOSTTT0010
Hello and welcome to another Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge. This month our grid has been designed by Angie McKenzie and is just perfect for this time of this year well, in the UK at least.
I decided to use leaves, watercolour smooshing and emboss for my project.
Given the time of the year, my choice of colours was obvious really!
One of my favourite stamps sets is one called Colorful Seasons - it is so versatile and as it says, covers all four seasons making it great value for money. Its been around for a few years now and I have used it a lot.
So for the smooshing ...
I took a piece of water colour paper and liberally spritzed with clean water. Now for the fun part!
I dropped splodges of ink onto the wet paper ...
... gave a few more spritzes of water to merge the different inks and ended up with this!
I used the solid leaf die to cut out several leaves.
I then die cut some leaf skeletons from copper foil. I adhered one to each leaf using a mini glue dot at the base of the stem offsetting slightly so as not to completely cover the leaves and all the beautiful colours I had created.
For the emboss element of this challenge I decided to use one of the sentiments from Colorful Seasons.
I heat embossed 'just breath' using copper embossing powder onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie card.
I used some gold and copper metallic paint to add some splatters to a larger panel of watercolour paper and then assembled my project.
Here is my finished project mounted into an IKEA RIBA Shadow Box Frame - I use these a lot too!
I had intended to give this project away but I really like it so I may just keep for myself!
I took lots and lots of photos showing more detail of how I made this project. Far too many for a single post so I will share the details in another post next week.
Why not head over the the Joy of Sets Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have made of this fun challenge HERE, there are some lovely Autumnal projects this month.
If you haven't tried a Tic Tac Toe challenge before or a box card why not give it a go; if you are stuck in a rut or suffering from crafter's block you might just find it useful! You can also enter our challenge and share your project - there is a chance you could be our next guest designer and hop along with us next month!
Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.
Thanks again to Fiona for keeping us DT Members organised and for Angie choosing our grid this month!
Happy crafting!
Susan xx
