Playful Penguins - CASE Myself!
Hello and welcome to another Stamp n' Hop blog hop. This month we have been asked to CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) one of our own projects - how much fun is that?
I knew straight away which project I was going to CASE - one I made in September using a stamp set called Playful Penguins. You can see my original post HERE.
I think this penguin is definitely male don't you? So I decided I was going to make a girly version of my project!
Boy was this tricker that I thought it would be! I am most definitely not a 'pink' person, I never wear the colour and don't like frills at all.
I decided to use Melon Mambo for the background which I created with an Aqua Painter and ink squeezed into the lid of the ink pad. I used Smoky Slate ink (2nd generation) to stamp a something for the penguin to stand on.
I then stamped out a penguin with Memento ink and fussy cut it out.
I went a bit mad then and coloured the penguin with the Aqua Painter and Melon Mambo ink. In another fit of madness I added some Wink of Stella!
To complete the madness I added a necklace - I mean really, what was I thinking?
I added some metallic silver thread behind the penguin and adhered to the card base with dimensionals.
I also added some of the lovely Snowflake Sequins, adhered with the Shimmery Crystal Effects.
Here is the finished card - at this point I realised I had no room for a sentiment.
So of course, I started my project again!
This time I turned the note card to landscape and recreated my watercolor background.
As above, I stamped and fussy a penguin.
However, this time I did not colour her tummy and I added a pearl necklace instead. Does she remind you of a certain craftyducky I wonder?
I added some WInk of Stella to the shaded areas but of course, as usual, it is proving difficult to photograph. I promise it looks very sparkly in real life!
Anyway here is the finished card, with my original project, complete with a sentiment this time!
I won't waste my first project - I know a little girl who loves all things pink so it will go to a good home. Details of the products used for my project can be found below.
Next up is Sandra, I can't wait to see which project she has decided to CASE!
Thanks for hopping along with us, don't forget to leave comments!
