Tidings All Around - SBTD 10/19

Hello and welcome to another Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop.  If you are starting here with me or following on from Tricia, I hope find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

This month our theme is anything with leaves!  I have a new bundle that can be found on page 9 of the Autumn / Winter catalogue that I needed to use called Tidings All Around.

I love a bundle as you get a 10% saving and, this one is even better value as there is an additional stamp set that you can use with the dies!  The Seasonal Wreaths stamp set can be found on page 50 of the Autumn Winter catalogue.

The colours I am using for my project are taken from the stunning Feels Like Frost Speciality Designer Series Paper - its my absolute favourite in the whole catalogue!  Perhaps not the first colour combo you think of when leaves are mentioned but I do love my blues!

My project started with some heat embossing using Versamark ink and White Stampin' Emboss Powder with a piece of Seaside Spray card.

For some reason the embossed card reminds me of Wedgewood pottery!

I used the coordinating die to cut it out.  I discovered that the clever people at Stampin' Up! have added an extra pointy bit to the wreath stamp that corresponds to the pointy bit on the die!  So easy to line up the image to cut out - brilliant!

I then used a piece of vellum and the other die in the set to cut out the inner circle.

I was left with these pieces - too good to waste; I just need to think of something to do with them don't I?

I cut a piece of DSP 5mm smaller than my Night of Navy card base and adhered to the front.

I used dimensionals to adhere the stamped wreath and carefully positioned Tombow to adhere the vellum.  I then used some puff paint on the vellum leaves and sprinkled with some Ice Stampin' Glitter.  I love this chunky sparkly glitter a lot!

I decided NOT to heat the puff paint for this particular project.  I much prefer a smooth look; you just have to wait a while for it to dry but I think it is worth the wait!

I used one of the Merry Christmas dies with some Night of Navy card to cut out the word 'Merry' and carefully adhered on top of the dried puff paint.

I also stamped a sentiment in Night of Navy ink onto a scrap of Whisper White and adhered with dimensionals.

Looking at the photographs, I am now wondering whether I should add a small bow to the wreath ...  one day I will be more decisive!  Perhaps some of the lovely Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon?

I added an insert to the card, 5mm smaller than the base cut from standard Whisper White.  I added some simple stamping using Seaside Spray and Night of Navy inks.

Here is the completed card and envelope - the envelope has also been stamped to coordinate.
