Honey Bee - Hopping Around The World!
If you are starting here with me or joining from the lovely Maï Chapelain from France, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.
This month our challenge is to use something for our project that you can earn for FREE during Sale-A-Bration or SAB for short.
As soon as I saw the new catalogue I knew I would have to have the Honey Bee Bundle of stamps and dies.
This fabulous bundle is one that I know I will use a lot. The Honey Bee stamps are £19 (10 stamps), and the Detailed Bee Dies (8 dies) are £24. You can purchase them together as a bundle with a 10% saving from the 3rd January.
Bump your order up to £45, perhaps some card stock and you can choose the stunning Golden Honey Speciality Designer Series Paper for free!
The black and white imagery has gold foil accents on some of the designs and, some of the images can be cut with the Detailed Bee Dies too!
I took my inspiration from these stunning papers and, I predict they will be a very popular SAB choice!
Here are the colours I used for my project.
You could of course colour these pretty little flowers in many other colours too.
I used ww note cards for my project. I also used the following pieces of card and DSP.
DSP - I love the simplicity of black and white stripes! 7.6 x 10.5 cm
Basic Black card 6.8 x 10.5 cm
WW 9.5 x 5.8 cm
I adhered the DSP and the black card to the front on the note card using Tombow.
I then used Daffodil Delight ink to stamp the large bee and Stazon for the sentiment in the centre of the ww panel and again, adhered with Tombow.
I used a scrap of thick ww and Memento ink to stamp some flowers and cut them out with the coordinating dies. The flowers have been coloured with Stampin' Blends and then adhered with dimensionals.
When it came to the finishing touches for my project I suffered from my usual indecisiveness.
To bee, to bow or, not to be?
However a simple post on my Facebook page and my lovely crafty ladies provided the solution!
I went with the little bee, stamped in Memento, cut out and coloured with a Stampin' Blend then adhered with a dimensional. I love the details on this little bee!
Here is my completed card and envelope (I also stamped a flower on the flap of the envelope).
I didn't intend to do much with the inside of the note card, I just stamped a flower in one corner using Memento ink.
Just as I finished my project my naughty cat Felix jumped up on my desk so I had to use a spare flower to cover a mucky paw print!
This is such a busy time of year so my project had to be quick and simple. These little note cards would also make really good thank you cards with an alternative sentiment wouldn't they?
Next up is Sheila Turner from Canada - click to see what she has created to share with us.
Happy hopping!
Susan xx

Great card and our minds were in sync for this challenge, although our cards are completely different! I love how you framed the sentiment with your die cuts. Thanks for sharing x
