Parisian Blossoms Suite for the Kre8tors Blog Hop
Hello and welcome to another Kre8tors blog hop. We are a group of crafters' from around the world who love to share our passion for crafting. If you have joined me from Jan Musselmen in the USA or are starting here with me, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop along with us.
This month our theme is love and romance (can't think why)!! I will be using items from the lovely Parisian Blossoms Suite for my project.
My colour palette is simple and a real classic; black, white and silver and was chosen by the friend who asked me to make a card for a special someone in her life.
To Create The Parisian Beauty Card
Card base 21 cm x 21 cm scored at 10.5 cm ww (thick).
First layer 9.5 cm x 20 cm Basic Black.
Second layer 9 cm x 20.5 cm Golden Honey Speciality DSP (SAB free item).
I used the largest Nested Label Dies, cut from thick ww and adhered to the card with dimensionals.
I cut some flowers using vellum with dies from Cherry Blossoms. The clever people at SU have included four flowers in the set so it was quick and easy to do!
Top Tip
I used the end of my paper piercing tool to add some shape to each flower. Place the flower in the palm of your hand and press/wiggle the tool in the centre of each flower. This press and wiggle action causes the petals to curl and shape.
At this point I decided that I would also cut the flower centres from silver foil so, I had to flatten out my flowers so that I could adhere the centres. Once dry, I re shaped them.
Top Tip #2
Adhere the centre of the flowers before shaping as above!
Using Basic Black card, I cut out the stunning Eiffel Tower. I used Foam Adhesive strips across the two solid sections and a dab of Tombow at the top to adhere to the front of the card.
I then added a trio of flowers and a silver foil flourish to one side of the tower. The flourish has been adhered using only a dab of Tombow at the base - I like dimension on my projects.
I had intended to add a black 'Amour' die cut but changed my mind at the last minute and used silver foil.
The inside of the card was decorated to match. As this is a rather tall card I added two layers of Nested Label dies and a sentiment stamped in Stazon as a place to write a message.
I then added a black flourish and another flower.
Here is the completed card and envelope.
