Positive Thoughts - quick & simple

Here are the details for our first project this week using a stamp set called Positive Thoughts.

I really like this project as I love white space it's also quick and simple to make.  I'm not really a 'pink' person and don't use the colour very often.  Petal Pink is not too pink if you know what I mean so I can cope with it!

To create the Positive Thoughts card
I used the ww note cards and envelopes for this project.  I used the lovely frame die in the Nature's Thoughts die set and thick ww card to create a panel.  The detail around the edge of this die is stunning; so pretty and delicate.

I used Soft Suede ink and a tiny sentiment from a set called New Wonder but, I think this card would also make a very pretty note card without a sentiment.

To create the die cut elements
I used thick ww and Petal Pink card.

Stamp the fern in Pear Pizzazz ink and die cut.  I curled my fern slightly around the top of my poky tool.  Stamp the flower using Petal Pink ink and cut out.

To create the flower centre there are a couple of options.  You can die cut the centre from Petal Pink card or you can stamp the flower again and cut the centre out with the die.

Can you see the little cut marks in the centre of the flower?  As a third option you can lift each tiny petal with a poky tool for a more dimensional look.

I also cut two of the flower sprigs from Petal Pink card (one large, one small). and a tiny butterfly.

To assemble the Positive Thoughts card
Adhere the die cut panel with Tombow to the centre of the card front.

Take a length of this stunning gold edged ribbon and adhere across the card using several glue dots.

I used dimensionals to adhere each layer of the flower placing a single dimensional in the centre of each.

I used Tombow on the end of each stem to tuck the fern and the sprigs behind the flower hence the single dimensional!

I adhered the tiny butterfly using a tiny dab of Tombow along the body and lifted the wings slightly for extra dimension.

I added a champagne rhinestone to the centre of the flower for a bit of sparkle.

I stamped a single, partial fern on the inside of the card and the envelope.

I made a slightly different version of this card yesterday omitting the sentiment (I will add one when I need a card) and adding a tiny bow in the centre of the flower.
