Hoot Hoot Hooray!

Hello, are you looking for a new hobby or a way to keep children entertained?  I know lots of you are trying to limit screen time too, so I have a solution for you.

The Hoot Hoot Hooray stamp set can't be found in the Annual Catalogue; it's in a special, smaller brochure aimed at new crafters.

Stampin' Up! have bundled up everything you need to get started making simple, quick and easy cards.  The only thing you need to add is adhesive (I can help with that too)!

If you already have some crafty supplies, items can be purchased separately (see below).

Here are some samples to give you ideas.

I had a little play with just one of the images in this stamp set - the little owl.

Beginner

I copied the sample above to create a really simple beginner card that even younger children could create with ease.

Intermediate

For an intermediate card I used a 2 1/4" Circle Punch and a Blender Pen.

These dual tipped pens are filled with a special solution that allows colour to blend easily.  In this instance I used watercolour pencils but the solution also works with our inks.

Step 1
Colour the image as you normally would.

Step 2

Colour over the image with the blender pen.  The solution in the pen 'smoothes' out the pencil lines and also allows you to 'push' the colour to any areas you may have missed!

Top Tip
The pen tips clean off with just a stroke or two on scrap paper so you don't need a different pen for each colour.

Advanced

For my third card I took things up another notch.  I coloured the image with Stampin' Blends and added an extra layer to the card with the aid of an embossing folder and some dimensionals.

So, in no time at all three cards finished.  I struggled with the concept of stamping directly onto the card front with no dimension at all #simplestamping but I managed!

Don't forget you can also stamp on the inside of your cards and the envelopes; you can colour these images too if you like!
