Field of Flowers - stepped up
Hello, here is my second project this week using the Field of Flowers stamp and punch bundle.
Here is my project:
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm ww thick
10 cm x 14 cm So Saffron
9.5 cm x 13.5 cm ww thick
9.5 cm x 4 cm ww thick
1 cm strip ww thick for the sentiment plus scraps for the flowers
The background:
Place the 4 cm piece of ww against the larger background, decide on position and lightly mark top and bottom with a pencil. I then used a sponge brayer with Pear Pizzazz ink to create a background. I aimed for around 3 cm higher above the pencil marks and around 1 cm below. Don't forget to remove the pencil marks when you have finished!
The stamping:
I used Pear Pizzazz ink to stamp the lovely grassy border and Night of Navy for the Dragonfly.
The flowers:
Stamp an assortment of flowers and punch out with the coordinating punch. I do love how the punch aligns with the tiny stamped flowers!
I like to add shape and dimension to flowers. I usually place them in the palm of my hand and use the end of my Take Your Pick tool to shape them.
The sentiment:
I used my Stamparatus to position 'Always' on the left hand side of the 4 cm piece of ww card. I used a 1 cm strip for the 'thinking of you'.
The inside:
I somehow managed to get an inky splodge on the inside of the card so I brayered a background to hide it and added a stamped border to coordinate with the front of the card. The envelope also received similar treatment.
To assemble:
Adhere the background panel to the card front with dimensionals, I also added the sentiment panel and the smaller sentiment with dimensionals too. Adhere the flowers on the front of the card with dabs of Tombow. I also added jewels to some of them for a bit of sparkle.
The completed project:
I was pleased with how this card turned out and can see myself making more of them in different colours.
Field of Flowers and the coordinating Confetti Flowers Border Punch are available as a bundle with a 10% saving. It's a very versatile bundle with many uses that I can think of. I think it would also be useful for decorating some nice writing paper - I do this quite often as I write to my Aunty Doreen each week and a proper letter as she says, is better than a card!
Hard to choose which of the projects I've made this week I like best but I do like the sentiments stamped in Night of Navy. It makes a nice change from black and I think it looks quite elegant!
I will be busy this weekend emptying my kitchen and trying to manage with a microwave and a toaster in the Dining Room until my new kitchen is fitted - wish me luck!
Have a crafty weekend (wish I could)!
Susan xx
