Jar Of Flowers - quick & simple
Hello, here is my first project this week using a stamp set called Jar Of Flowers. My choice of Sunflowers was very apt this week in the UK as we are experiencing a heat wave.
Here is my project:
The colours I used:
You will need:
29 cm x 10.5 cm ww thick scored at 14.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm ww thick
4.5 cm x 14 cm Designer Series Paper (DSP)
small piece ww thick for stamping
The background:
Adhere the strip of DSP across the front of the ww panel using Tombow. Emboss with the Tasteful Textile embossing folder. Adding the DSP before embossing adds texture to the DSP too and also makes it easier to adhere to the card!
I seem to be using the Tasteful Textile embossing folder a lot at the moment. It's an easy way to add texture and dimension to projects.
The stamping and colouring:
I used Memento ink to stamp the Sunflowers twice onto a piece of scrap card. I fussy cut one of the whole images and a single flower from the other before colouring with Stampin Blends.
Top Tip:
I prefer to fussy cut and then colour images. There is nothing worse than spending time (and ink) colouring an image and then you make a mistake when cutting out!
To assemble:
I had intended to use the gingham ribbon that part of the Flowers for Every Season Suite but at the last minute I changed my mind.
Adhere a piece of ribbon across the front on the panel adhering on the reverse with double sided tape.
Mount the panel on to the card front with dimensionals.
Adhere the flowers with dimensionals. As a finishing touch I tied a small bow and adhered with a glue dot.
The inside:
A simple partially stamped image on one corner.
The completed project:
I left my project sentiment free so that I can add one when I need to!
Any of the images in the Jar of Flowers stamp set would good using this layout. You could also change the layout to portrait for another look. A set of four notecards would also make a lovely gift wouldn't they?
I will be back later this week with another project using this versatile stamp set using a simple masking technique.
Happy crafting!
