Jar of Flowers - stepped up

Here are the details for my second project this week using a stamp set called Jar of Flowers.

I made this card for a friend of mine; Kath and I have been friends for over 25 and she knows me very well.  So well that she knows she needs to remind me two weeks before her birthday so I have chance to make a card!

Here is my project:

Apologies for the photo - the embossing is not showing very well but it does below!

The colours I used:

You will need:

29 cm x 14.5 cm ww thick scored at 14.5 cm

10 cm x 14 cm ww thick

8 cm x 11 cm ww thick for die cutting

8 cm x 11 cm Mango Melody for die cutting

10 cm x 14 cm Mango Melody - insert

9 cm x 13 cm ww regular - insert

Scraps of ww thick for stamping and a 1 cm strip for the sentiment

The stamping:

I used one of the Stitched So Sweetly Dies to cut a panel and stamped the jar first with Memento ink.  I stamped the jar again onto a sticky note and trimmed to create a mask.  Place the mask over the jar and stamp the sunflowers.  I also stamped the sunflowers twice onto a piece of scrap ww thick.  Don't forget to stamp the stems too!

The colouring:

I used Stampin Blends to colour the sunflowers.  On the main image, I partially coloured some of the flowers as I knew I would be covering with the extra flowers I stamped.  Colour the sunflowers only on the extra stamped pieces and fussy cut.  I used Pool Party (light) to add some water to the jar, softening the edge with a Colour Lifter to blur it a little.

The die cutting:

Cut another rectangle from the piece of Mango Melody card.  Trim a small piece from one side.

To assemble:

Adhere the Mango Melody piece behind the stamped panel using Tombow to create a contrast border.  I used dimensionals to adhere the two flower pieces on top.

I used Smoky Slate (light) underneath the jar to 'ground' the image, blurring the edges again with the Colour Lifter.

Emboss the ww thick panel with the one of the Greenery Embossing folders and adhere to the card base with dimensionals.

Adhere the stamped panel with dimensionals too.

The sentiment:

I used a stamp from a set called Field of Flowers, stamping onto a 1 cm strip or card with Memento.  'Flag' one end and adhere under the flowers at a jaunty angle.  I tied a small double bow from linen thread and adhered with a glue dot.

The inside:

I stamped a partial image in one corner of the ww piece and coloured with the Stampin' Blends.  Adhere the ww panel to the piece of Mango Melody with double side tape and then adhere to the card base.

The completed project:

I also stamped a partial image on the envelope for a coordinated look.

I popped the card in the post earlier today - for once it will arrive in time!

I am busy playing with new goodies working on projects for Christmas so the glitter is out (and everywhere)!  I'll be back soon sharing details of the projects for next week using a stamp set called Field of Flowers.

Don't forget, if you are around on Sunday have a look at my Share It Sunday post on facebook.  At the end of the month I will choose a favourite project and send the creator a little something from me.  Anything you have been working, doesn't have to be SU or even a papercraft project - just share away!

Have a crafty weekend.

Susan xx
