Hello, here are the details for the first project this week using the Snowflake Wishes bundle.
Here is my project:
I love projects with lots of white space so I like this card a lot; clean and simple with a bit of sparkle, quick and easy to make!
The colours I used:
You will need:
21 cm x 14.5 cm - scored at 10.5 cm
10 cm x 14 cm w thick
ww thick and Seaside Spray for die cutting
The background:
I used the Winter Snow embossing folder on the thick ww panel. Adhere to the card base with dimensionals.
Ever since I discovered some time ago that the Metallic Mesh Ribbon could be stretched and rearranged I knew I wanted to put some behind a couple of snowflakes. I faffed for ages with a strip of Stampin' Seal to 'arrange' neatly. I managed in the end but then I realised that if I'd tied a knot in the middle of the ribbon before adhering it would have been much easier! The piece of Metallic Mesh I used was around 4" long but if you were to tie a knot, it would need to be a bit longer.
The die cutting:
I used ww thick to cut out two different sized snowflakes and a panel for the sentiment (Stitched So Sweetly dies). I also cut another panel from Seaside Spray.
The sentiment:
I stamped this lovely sentiment using Night of Navy ink. I wanted to add some background colour to the sentiment to help it stand out from the embossed panel; unfortunately I had used the largest die in the set. Fortunately there is a sneaky way you can get round this!
Top tip #1 Cut the Seaside Spray die cut in half and adhere on the back of the ww one using Tombow and you have solved the problem! You can do this with all different shapes and sizes of dies - why not give it a go?
To assemble: Adhere the sentiment panel with dimensionals. I used dabs of Tombow on the snowflakes taking care to only put the glue where the snowflakes touched the sentiment panel. It would have been tricky to adhere with dimensionals without them showing. As I'd used ww thick card, the snowflakes are able to support themselves. Tweak the Metallic Mesh until you are happy with the effect. I also added some Blue Adhesive Backed Gems for a bit of extra sparkle.
The inside/envelope:
I used Night of Navy ink to stamp a decorative border along the inside of the card and across the bottom of the envelope.
Top Tip #2
Rotate the snowflake stamp each time you stamp for a more natural, less regimented look.
The completed project:
This project would look great in other colours too and would make a lovely gift for someone unable to get out and about to purchase cards this year. I have another project to share with you later this week using Snowflake Wishes - I think this lovely bundle is a contender for my favourite Christmas stamp set for 2020!Happy crafting.
