Technique Tuesday Blog Hop - Fun Folds

Hello and welcome to another Technique Tuesday Blog Hop.  Our theme this week is fancy folds and I will be using a stamp and die bundle called Nature's Prints for my project.

I do love a fancy fold don't you?  So many options and decorative possibilities and so much fun to create too!

I am using Nature's Prints for my project - not the first bundle you may think of to create a Christmas card but, I am using this bundle this week for my Coffee & Cards class and I wanted to show just how versatile this bundle is.

Here is my project:

It's a Pinwheel card - they look very impressive but are very simple to make!

The colours I used:

You will need:

Real Red 10.5 cm x 15.5 cm

Real Red 10.5 cm x 7.5 cm - you will need 4

Basic White (BW) 10 cm x 7 cm - you will need 4

Basic White (BW) 10 cm x 5 cm - you will need 4

Small pieces of BW, Garden Green and Gold Foil

The cutting and scoring:

Take the 10.5 cm x 15.5 cm piece of card and score on the long edge at 2 cm, 4 cm, 6 cm and 8 cm.

To assemble

Crease all the score lines and adhere to form a column.

Add glue to each side of the pillar in turn and adhere one of the 10.5 cm x 7.5 cm panels.

When all four panels have been adhered you should end up with something that looks like this.

The decorating of the panels:

For the four smaller panels I used the stamps in the Nature's Prints set with Garden Green ink and adhered to each of the panels with Tombow.

I embossed two of the larger panels with the pine needle embossing folder that is part of the Wintry 3D Embossing Folder bundle.

I had fun decorating the other two panels for the front and back of the card using an assortment of die cuts and stamped images.

Here is the front panel:

And, here is the back panel - there is space to write a message on.

Top Tip:

I used the remaining piece of the wreath to decorate the back - waste not, want not as they say!

The sentiment:

I used the die cut label from the Nature's Prints Die and stamped a sentiment from the Peaceful Boughs stamp set in Garden Green ink.  The sentiment has been adhered with dimensionals.

The details:

I added several Red Rhinestones for a little bling - I may re visit this project to add more!

Top tip:

Apart from the sentiment panel all the other stamped and die cut images have been adhered with Tombow.  This enables the card to fit inside the envelope neatly.

The envelope:

I used two of the images from Nature's Prints with Garden Green ink to create a coordinating border along the bottom of the envelope.

The completed card and envelope:

For those of you who are wondering, yes it does fit inside the envelope!
