Snailed It - Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to another Stamping INKspirations Blog Hop.  If you are starting here with me, or hopping over from Susan Webster, welcome we have lots of lovely projects to share with you this month!

This month our theme is 'love is in the air' which can mean so many things.  Love is what makes the world go round or so they say - so you could love your neighbor, love your family, love your friends, love your coffee, love your favorite colour(s), love your favorite ribbon, love your favorite treat, love your favorite holiday, love your favorite pet, love your favorite shoes... I think you get the picture! I decided to make my project using the Snailed It bundle beacuse I love it!

Craftyduckydoodah, Snailed It, Stampin' Up, Stamping INKspirations,

How cute are these snails?  They are perfect for colouring using lots of different mediums and I'm sure children will love to use them to for their own projects.  The dies create little motifs and there is a useful stitched edge die too that I used for my backghround panel.  Did you spot the tiny envelope die that has it's own little letter too - how cute are they?  I do love any dies with stitched edges!

Here is my project:

A special project that I was asked to make for a friend for a certain occassion that happens every year on the 14th February!

The colours I used:

You will need:

21 xm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) - scored at 10.5 cm

Sweet Little Valentines Cards & More

BWT for stamping and die cutting

The background:

You may well have missed the Sweet Little Valenties Cards & More tucked away at the bottom of page 16 in the January - June catalogue.  This useful little set contains images and phrases and are great to have in your crafty stash to ensure you always have the makings of little love notes.

I used one of these cards, cut in half for the front and inside of my project.

The stamping, die cutting and colouring:

I stamped the images using Memento ink and cut out with the coordinating dies.  I spent a lovely half hour colouring them with my Blends.

To assemble:

Adhere the striped background to the card front with diemensionals.  I then added the BWT panel, again with dimensionals before adding all the decorative elements using a mix of Tombow and dimensionals.

The inside:

I used Pool Party ink to stamp the snails around the edge of the inside of the card base, no need to worry about the middle as it will be covered!

Stamp the sentiment with Memento ink onto the  Memories & More card and adhere using Tombow.

Craftyduckydoodah, Snailed It, Stampin' Up, Stamping INKspirations,

I used the cute little envelope die and BWT card to cut an envelope and a tiny letter.  Adhere the points of the envelope with mini glue dots.  I used a blend pen to add some colour around the stitched edge to make it stand out more.

Craftyduckydoodah, Snailed It, Stampin' Up, Stamping INKspirations,

These tiny envelopes are so much fun and are perfect for little secret messages!

As a finishing touch for the inside I added a trio of tiny resin hearts.  I could have used the red hearts but they were not quite the right colour for my project.

Top tip:
I used one of the blend pens to colour the white hearts for a perfect match.  You can just about see the difference in the photo below - I fear I have a touch of crafty OCD and these little details matter to me!  The blend pens can be used to colour all sorts of embelishments so that you always have perfect colour coordiantion.

The completed project:

I stamped an image on the envelope too - I'm wondering if I should have coloured it now that I am looking at the photo ....

The details:

Of course I had to add some googley eyes didn't I?  I also added the last drip of Wink of Stella to the spots on the toadstools; as ever, it is tricky to photograph this sparkly stuff!  I'm hoping my new one arrives soon - I don't like to be without!

Craftyduckydoodah, Snailed It, Stampin' Up, Stamping INKspirations,

I used the blend pens to create a little hill for the snail to sit on - snails floating in mid air just don't look right do they?

Next up is Anne Marie Hyle who has a 'love-ly' project to share with us.
