Stampin' Up! Beautiful Day quick & simple

Hello, here are the details of our first project this week using a stamp set called Beautiful Day.

Sometimes all you need is a clean and simple card, no fuss and no frills and this is exactly what this card is.

My crafty ladies and I had a lovely time this morning, drinking coffee, chatting and colouring = crafty bliss!

We used the Stamparatus to ensure that the black outline of the butterfly was nice and dark all over.  The image has been tilted deliberately so that part of the wing is missing to give an arty feel.

For my sample card I used Pumpkin Pie, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party Duo Stampin' Blends.  I am not sure where this colour combo came from - orange is not usually my thing at all.  It is possible that my new found love for Grapefruit Grove is proving influential!

The sentiment has been stamped on a piece of card the same width as the base layer and raised up on Stampin' Dimensionals.

The addition of some silver sequin trim and a trio of black jewels finished the card off.

For a change this morning I decided to use different colours - ones that I would not normally choose!

I was not sure at first but when I had finished colouring I decided that I quite liked it!  Here are both cards together.

Of course in true Libran fashion, I can't decide which version I prefer.  However, I have two further C & C sessions available this week so I might just try out some other colours too! If you would like to join me, you can find the details on my facebook events page here.

The lovely ladies who joined me this morning made some stunning cards and I am looking forward to seeing the colour combos that are chosen at my Tuesday and Thursday afternoon sessions too.
