Flowering Desert - Joy Of Sets Tic Tac Toe #JOSTTT005
Hello, I'm back again hopping with the Design Team for the Joy of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge. We are a group of crafter's who just love to share our passion for paper crafting.
This is our challenge grid for this month - chosen by me! I put the grid together several months ago; I must have had some sort of plan in my head but I have no idea what it was!!
I choose to use flowers, tree and yellow for my project this month. I am using cacti in place of trees as they are often know as the trees of the desert!
If you are a regular reader of my blog you will know that my daughter Rosie celebrates her birthday on the 1st May. You may also know that she has a thing for llama's and always asks for a special box card each year!
I bought Flowering Desert with this project in mind - I also used a retired stamp and framelits set called Birthday Fiesta for the smaller cacti and the llama.
If you need a tutorial to make one of these cards you can find one HERE that I made way back in 2015.
Once the basic box card has been constructed you can have so much fun decorating them.
I cut panels for the three sides 5mm smaller and then added some stamping.
Here is the panel I stamped for the reverse of the card - its official; my daughter is awesome!
For the inside front panel, I stamped a llama and added a decorative blanket, coloured with Stampin' Blends. I had to trim the rear of the llama so he would fit flush with the edge of the panel. The llama has been adhered with dimensionals.
I then stamped another llama and some cacti - the smaller ones were fussy cut out. I had great fun deciding where to place everything.
Here's a view from the top.
I also stamped the envelope - I might just have got a bit carried away with myself!
Here is the completed card and envelope - yes it does fold flat to fit into the envelope!
Head over the the Joy of Sets Blog to see what the rest of the Design Team have made of this fun challenge HERE.
If you haven't tried a Tic Tac Toe challenge before or a box card why not give it a go; if you are stuck in a rut or suffering from crafter's block you might just find it useful! You can also enter our challenge and share your project - there is a chance you could be our next guest designer and hop along with us next month!
Happy crafting.

DeleteWow a lot of work has gone into this one Susan - such a fun card and a great take on your own grid!
ReplyDeleteThanks - I am loving the TTT challenges.
DeleteI didn't think about this stamp set until you mentioned the retired Bundle you used as well! I also still have this Bundle as well. Now, Thank to you, I'll have another stamp set to go with it! My only problem with trying this is, I Do NOT remember my centimeters numbers. But, luckily for me, I still have my S. Trimmer. I'm hoping this will help me get through the numbers differences. If all else fails, I'll go to Pinterest and look for directions similar to yours. Again, Thank YOU so much for sharing before this stamp set went away!
ReplyDeleteThank you Gloria. I am so pleased my project inspired you. This is another of those stamps sets I will not be parting with. Good luck with your project, if I can help let me know. xx
