Butterfly Wishes - Stamp 'N Hop

Hello, and welcome to another Stamp 'N Hop blog hop.  If you are joining me from my lovely friend Mo, or starting here with me - welcome, I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around the world with us!

This month our theme is 'Hello to the the 2019 - 2020 Annual Catalogue!  So, anything in the Annual Catalogue that is new - talk about a difficult decision!

I decided to use a new stamp set called Butterfly Wishes.  Just take a look at these stunning photo realistic butterflies - they are quite simply stunning!

Stampin' Up! also have a challenge for us Demonstrators during June - #simplestamping

The creative parameters for the challenge are:

Theme: any occasion

Supplies: stamps, ink, paper

So with minimal supplies and only a single stamp set I got to work.

I don't often use Very Vanilla in my projects as evidenced by a stockpile of Very Vanilla note cards and envelopes I found during a recent tidy up of my craft room!

Here are the colours I am using.

So here is my card - no layers, die cutting, embossing - just stamp, inks, paper!  (Forgive me for adding the pearls - I could not help myself).

Gray Granite is part of the neutrals collection - stamped onto very vanilla, it almost looks brown doesn't it?

The detail on these images is so impressive - who would believe you could achieve this look with a single stamped image!

However, in true Stampin' Up! style I decided to take this project up a notch!
I used watercolour pencils to gently add some colour to the stamped images.

Top Tip

Make sure your pencils are not sharp!  This might seem odd but using a blunted pencil removes any harsh colouring lines.  Use a gentle circular motion to add colour to the images so that you don't loose any of the fabulous detail in these images.

These are the colours I used - note the blunt ends!

Here are the completed cards and envelopes.  I also stamped the branch on the inside of the card and the envelop too.

It just goes to show that you don't need lots of fancy equipment or products to be creative.  I did add some pearls - I could not help myself!  These cards would also be perfect for beginner crafters too.

Next up is Narelle - I can't wait to see which new items she has chosen to work with.  Click 'next' to continue the hop.

Thanks for hopping along with us - I enjoyed creating my #simplestamping project why don't you try a #simplestamping project too?

Happy crafting!

Susan xx
