Let It Snow - treat and gift card holder SBTD 12/12

Hello and welcome to the last Stampers By The Dozen Blog Hop for 2019!

We are a group of Stampin' Up! Demonstrators from around the world who just love to share our passion for all things Stampin' Up!  If you are joining me from Judi in the USA, or starting here with me, welcome!  I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

This month our challenge is to make anything but a card!

This is my very last make for Christmas 2019 and, I made it especially for my daughter Rosie who loves minty hot chocolate from a certain coffee shop!

There are many tutorials for these little gift card and treat holders on Pinterest - most seem to feature Hershey Kisses but as we don't have those in the UK I went for little minty chocolate truffles.  I have started a Pinterest Board with some more ideas HERE, there are a couple of tutorials too that you may find useful.  I followed a tutorial by Kelly Acheson and tweaked the measurements a little so that I could fit the chocolates in.

Here are the colours I am using for my project.

Whilst I was making this project I came across a box of embellishments that I thought I had lost.  How cute are the hat and the mittens?  I could never achieve such neat and tiny stitches!

The sparkly snowman has been punched from a strip of Let It Snow Speciality DSP.

I used my favourite Stitched Rectangle dies to create the window.  The sparkly tape was necessary as I had a slight mishap with the washi tape whilst holding the die in place!  I choose not to add window sheet in the aperture on my version - the chocolates I used were quite large and were not going to fall out of the window.

I used Tombow to adhere the left end of the box and a 'de stickied' glue dot on the right so that the chocolates can be got at without ruining the box!

Here is my finished project, quite pleased how it turned out in the end!
