Painted Poppies - Joy Of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge #JOSTTT014

Hello and welcome to another Joy Of Sets Tic Tac Toe Challenge.  Our grid this months has been designed by Kaylin Krawczyk.

I chose to use Die Cuts, Vellum and Floral  for my project.  It was the word vellum that provided the inspiration for my project this month.

I've had a set of the Peaceful Poppies Elements at the side of my desk for a while now and our grid this month provided the perfect opportunity to use them.

Poppies seem to be everywhere I look at the moment; the Peaceful Poppies Suite is quite likely the most popular in the Spring / Summer Catalogue.

Its quite possible that you might have missed these elements but at just £6 for 8 sheets of die cut elements they are a bargain and, perfect for when you are crafting in a hurry like me!

Here are the colours I used for my project.

I used thick ww for my card base and cut another panel 5mm smaller.  I love to scuff edges on card stock - some of my crafty friends can't even bear the thought of though!

I then stamped the single poppy image from a stamp set called Painted Poppies.

I used the splatter stamps to add some colour to the flower head and the leaf.  I love splatter type stamps - they remind me of my all time favourite stamp set, Gorgeous Grunge.

I then adhered one of the black die cut elements across the centre of the panel with Tombow.

I popped out two of the vellum leaves and coloured them on the reverse with an Old Olive Stampin' Blend.

I love the look of vellum; so delicate and almost not there if you see what I mean?

I used dimensionals to adhere one of the die cut floral elements and tucked the vellum leaves underneath with a dab of Tombow.

I added a little sentiment from a stamp set call New Wonders and added three red sequins as a finishing touch.

Of course I stamped on the inside and the envelope for a coordinated look!

This is such a quick and simple card that I think looks stunning.  There are so many pieces in the Peaceful Poppies Elements kit so I will be able to make lots more quick and simple cards too.  I can't wait to try a spot of water colouring on some of them.
