Love Of Leaves - quick & simple

Hello, I have a quick & simple project to share today using a fabulous stamp set called Love of Leaves that I have been using a lot lately.

Here is my project:

I love this card, the colours, the layout and the white space; it's very me!!

The colours I used:

You will need:

21 cm x 14.5 cm - scored at 10.5 cm

10 cm x 14 cm ww thick

ww thick for stamping and die cutting the leaf

The background panel:

Cut the largest leaf from the ww panel.  When I started this project I had it in mind to create a landscape card but I changed my mind at the last minute.  I love the stitched detail 'left behind' with this die don't you?

The stamping:
If you prefer, you can stamp onto the ww panel and then die cut the leaf but I prefer to cut the panel and stamp separately.  I used my Stampratus and Seaside Spray ink to stamp the leaf onto thick ww card.

I then used Sponge Daubers with Old Olive and Shaded Spruce ink, dabbing colour around the centre of the leaf and stamped over the Seaside Spray leaf.  Cut out with the coordinating die and add the stitched vein details too.  Stamp the sentiment using Night of Navy ink.

To assemble:

I used dimensionals to adhere the background to the card front.  I used a double layer of dimensionals to adhere the leaf.

The inside:

I used the same technique to stamp a leaf on the inside of the card and the front of the envelope.

This is a fun technique and a great way to add extra depth, colour and dimension to stamped images.  You also never quite know what you are going to end up with!

The finishing touch:

I added some Blue Adhesive Gems for a bit of sparkle - I seem to be using these a lot lately too.  I could have left my project here but I thought it needed a little something.

A tiny narrow Night of Navy bow adhered with a mini glue dot provided the perfect finishing touch.

The completed project:

I will be back tomorrow with another project using the Love Of Leaves bundle.

Have a crafty week!
