Snailed It - Stampers Showcase Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the last Stampers Showcase blog hop for 2020!  I will be using a suite of brand new products called  the Snail Mail Suite.  If you are starting here with me or you have hopped over from the USA and Melissa and her great project, welcome - we have some lovely projects to inspire you this month.

Craftyduckydoodah, Snail Mail Suite, Snailed It, Stampin' Up, 2021,

This month we are showcasing ideas using brand new items from the upcoming January - June 2021 Mini Catalogue that launches on the 5th January.  Not long to wait now!

Craftyduckydoodah, Snail Mail Suite, Snailed It, Stampin' Up, 2021,

The Snail Mail Suite was one of the first new items that I knew I had to have!  The colours, the fun designs and the embellishments are right up my street.  I just know I will get lots of use out it too.  There is even a little die that cuts out a mini envelope - I'm going to have some fun with that!

As ever, I had left my project until almost the last minute again (sigh) so, I needed a quick and simple project for the hop.

Here is my project:

The colours I used:

You will need:

20 cm x 10 cm Bermuda Bay - scored at 10 cm

9.5 cm x 9.5 cm piece of Designer Series Paper (DSP)

9.5 cm x 9.5 cm ww

Small piece of ww thick for die cutting

1.5 cm strip of DSP - 1 x 9.5 cm long, 1 x 10.5 cm long

The background:

Adhere the 9.5 cm piece of DSP to the front of the card using double sided tape.  I love the colour combos on the DSP, to me it looks sort of retro/vintagey.

The stamping and die cutting:

Included in the Snail Dies is a really useful die shaped like a postage stamp.  Cut one out using the ww thick card.

I used Memento ink to stamp the 'You've Got Mail' image in the centre of the panel.  One of the things I love about Stampin' Up! is that quite often the dies that cut out stamped images also cut out the images on the DSP - how clever is that?

Die cut a snail image that corresponds with the stamped image and adhere to the die cut panel with dimensionals.

I wrapped some Blushing Bride baker's twine three times around the panel just underneath the snail so it did look like it was floating in mid air.

To Assemble:

Adhere the panel to the front of the card with dimensionals.

The inside/envelope:

I stamped a sentiment and two little hearts on the piece of ww card using Memento ink.  I then adhered a strip of DSP across the bottom using Tombow.

I also adhered a strip of DSP across the front of the envelope.

The finishing touches:

I adhered one of the little resin hearts to the envelope - of course it fits perfectly, Stampin' Up! are so good with these little details!

I added a drop of Shimmery Crystal Effect to each eye for a little extra dimension.

The completed project:

Of course, if you have more time you could always stamp and colour the snail image with Stampin' Blends but unfortunately on this occasion I didn't but, I will very soon!

Next up is Jessica Brigden - I can't wait to see which new items she chose to use.
