These cute little hippos can be stamped individually or grouped together and are ideal for colouring using your favourite techniques.

There are so many elements in the coordinating die set allowing endless opportunities to dress up the hippos and create little scenes.  Die cut the pieces and colour any way you like to create fun projects suitable for all ages.

Here is my project:

As soon as I saw these cute hippos I knew I wanted to make a 'wobbly' card with them!  I am not usually a cute person but made an exception for the hippos.  Such lovely images for children and I think they would make a fabulous new baby card too.

The colours I used:

You will need:

21 cm x 14.5 cm Basic White Thick (BWT) scored at 10.5 cm

10 cm x 14 cm BWT

10 cm x 14 cm Smoky Slate

9.5 cm x 13.5 cm Basic White (BW)

Small pieces of BWT and Daffodil Delight

The background:

I used a blending brush with Pool Party ink to add colour to the centre of the BWT panel using a soft, circular motions.

Top tip #1:

Adding a soft blue background colour behind an image really makes images pop!

The stamping and die cutting:

I used Memento ink to stamp the hippo on BWT cardstock and cut out with the coordinating die.   I used the Daffodil Delight card to cut a small flower.

The colouring:

I used Stampin' Blends to colour the hippo.

Top tip #2:

I used the light Petal Pink blend pen to add colour to the hippos cheeks.  Simply 'dab' the bullet tip a couple of times and let the pen do its thing!  No need to get complicated and trying to colour around a pink cheek.

The sentiment:

I used the smallest Stylish Shapes Die, cutting from BWT and stamping the sentiment with Memento. I am a sucker for anything with a stitched edge and these dies are my new favourite!

To assemble:

Adhere the inked background to the card front with Memento.  No need to use dimensionals as the wobbly element does that.

Attach a wobbler to the back of the Hippo and adhere in the centre of the card.

You can see how much dimension the wobbler adds but, don't worry they squish flat in the envelope and spring up again when the card is removed!  As a bonus, they also create a lovely shadow around the Hippo!

I adhered the sentiment with dimensionals.  I shaped the flower and adhered with a dab of Tombow adding a pearl to the centre.

The inside:

I stamped another Hippo on the corner of the BW panel and coloured as before.  Both layers have been adhered to the inside using Tombow.

The envelope:

I stamped another Hippo on the front of the envelope and coloured with the Stampin' Blends.  Unfortunately, I misplaced the envelope and, as usual, my post it being written at the very last minute so I didn't have time to either find it or make another - I'm sure you get the idea though!

Top tip #3:

When colouring the envelope place a scrap piece of card behind the image you are colouring (inside the envelope).  The Stampin' Blends will bleed through the front of the envelope (they are supposed to) and then simply remove the scrap card when you have finished.

The details:

I used Wink of Stella on the Hippos tutu - devilishly difficult to photograph and much prettier in real life!

The completed project:

I had so many ideas for projects with this bundle but sadly life kept getting in the way of my crafting time and this is the first chance I have had to play with them.  However, I will definitely be using them again soon!
