Among The Branches for Halloween!

Hello,  I am sharing with you a spooky card today; I have made several for my children, my niece and some neighbours!

I just had to use the stamp set called Among The Branches (love the spooky eyes) with the wonderful Woodland textured embossing folder - even better they come as a bundle = 15% saving!!

I started with the sentiment - after stamping I punched it out with the 2" circle punch.  I intended to just back it with a 2 1/2" circle of black card but I thought that looked at bit boring so I took the 1 1/4" scalloped circle punch and 'nibbled' at the edges!

For the background I stamped the branches and the birds before I used the embossing folder.  I did originally try stamping after embossing but it did not look very nice.  I used a sponge dauber and some Smoky Slate ink to colour the embossed trees; I love how it creates shadows.

I stamped on an additional piece of cardstock for the inside so that I could write on it:

Here is the finished card and decorated envelope to match:

I used a slightly larger envelope so that I could fit in a little something from my favourite local chocolate shop (a skull shaped lolly)!

I have still not managed to find my little pink duck so I borrowed another more suitable duck from my daughter - good job she has lots (and lots) to choose from!

I hope whatever you are doing for Halloween that you have lots of spooky fun!
