Stampin' Up! - Christmas Pines

Hello, when I first got my hands on the new Autumn/Winter Catalogue and all my pre order goodies, one of the first stamp sets I opened up and got inky was called Christmas Pines.  The stamp set comes as a bundle with the Pretty Pines Thinlets which = 10% saving too!

There is just something about it that puts me right in the mood for Christmas and even though it was July, I made a card straight away.  I even showed it to lots of my crafty friends and then I put it in a box and forgot about it until now that is!

Anyway, here it is now, found again.  One of my most favourite items in the new Catalogue are these gorgeous Mini Pinecone Embellishments - I like them so much I am wondering whether I could turn two into a pair of earings - what do you think?

I struggled for ages trying to attach a Pinecone without the adhesive showing - then I decided to tie it onto the Bakers Twine.  Now it 'sits' perfectly and more importantly, it moves!

To coordinate with the Pinecones I used the Stampin's Emboss Copper Powder to create a background.  The background stamp in this set is very useful and could be used all year round too.

I would not normally use such a bright green as Emerald Envy as my card base but I went with the colours used on page 18 of the new catalogue for a change and, I have realised that I really quite like it!

I added a Whisper White layer to the inside of the card with some stamped pine boughs for a little decoration so that the card can be written on.
