Stampin' Up! Sale-a-Bration 2018 Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the Sale-a-Bration Kick Off 2018 Blog Hop!

If you are joining me straight from Cheryl's post thank you for hopping on over.  If you are starting with me, welcome - grab a cuppa and have fun hopping with us, don't forget to leave comments (we like that)!

As a Demo I am able to pre order items from the upcoming Spring / Summer and Sale-a-Bration brochures but, as I have been so busy it was only a few days ago that I finally got a chance to play with my goodies.

After several false starts I finally decided to use a free stamp set (with a qualifying order) called Lots of Lavender.

I am loving the new Narrow Note Cards and Envelopes - I used them a couple of weeks ago for a C & C session and my crafty ladies loved them (you can see the cards we made here).  These tiny cards measure 6.4 x 11.4 cm and they can easily be overlooked on page 19 of the Spring / Summer Brochure.

I stamped the main image from Lots of Lavender using Basic Gray Archival Ink.

Craftyduckydoodah!, Lots of Lavender, Sale-A-Bration Kick Off Blog 2018, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store,

I used a selection of Stampin' Blends to colour my images.  I started with the Light Rich Razzleberry pen using the wide nib to add splodges of colour to each petal.

I then added Dark Old Olive to the centre of the leaves.

I used the Light Old Olive pen to blend the darker colour and fill in the rest of the leaves and the stems.

I then went over the flowers again with the Light Pink Pirouette to blend them together.

I used Light Pool Party to colour the ribbon.

In no time at all I had coloured five tiny panels of thick WW cardstock.  Then, I was face with my usual indecision - what was I going to do with them next?

If you are a regular reader of my blog you will probably know that I like white cards with lots of free white space on them and, I liked scuffed edges!

Card 1

After assembling the card I added a tiny dot of Rich Razzleberry in the centre of the petals to add some depth and definition.

Card 2
This time no scuffing!  I used a paler pink and added tiny dots of the dark Rich Razzlebrry pen.  (I like this one a lot).  The white panel has been raised on Stampin' Dimensionals.

Card 3
The panel on this card was mounted onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock.  All edges have been scuffed.

This card was my least favourite coloured in yellow until that is, I added some tiny dots of colour using the light Rich Razzleberry Stampin' Blend - what a difference it made!

Card 5
For the final card I went with unscuffed edges and Stampin' Dimensionals again.

I finished off all the cards with a few jewels for a bit of sparkle.

The Lots of Lavender set is a two step stamp set and I could have used the stamps to add colour to the flowers and leaves.  This would have created a very different look - one of the things I love most about stamping!

I have been very kindly invited out for lunch on New Year's Day; I was told I must not bring anything with me but I thought a little gift would be ok.

I made a little box with the Lots to Love Box Framelits Dies - it came together so quickly (phew).  I stamped and coloured some lavender on the front panel and then finished it off with some of my new favourite ribbon - Berry Burst 3/8" Metallic Edge Ribbon - it is so pretty.  Unfortunately I could only fit four of my cards into the box - hey ho!
