Stampin' Up! Serene Garden - stepped up
Hello, here are the details for our second project this week using Serene Garden.
The initial idea for this particular project can be found on page 166 of the Annual Catalogue - I love it and bought this bundle because of it too!
My original sample for this project was coloured in shades of pink. However, when I came to assemble the card I could not find my Pink Pirouette cardstock. Turned out there was a very good reason for this - this colour has just retired and I had not removed the pink Stampin' Blends from my collection - oops!
So I resisted the temptation to use Bermuda Bay and went with Calypso Coral. The Stampin' Blends make it so easy to achieve professional looking results. I was joined by a fellow team member who has not been to one of my sessions before earlier this week. She was so impressed with the pens as she had never used them before. I think she might just have gone home and ordered a full set - sorry Lyn!!
I made a yellow version of this project on Tuesday - just as I had finished I realised I had an inky black fingerprint on the top of the card. So, I had to improvise - I think I will add a couple of jewels to finish it off too ...
There is a very clever die in this set - it does not cut, it just embosses. It creates such a pretty effect to decorate the corner of the card.
We used the Big Shot Embossing Mat (page 221) - you might have missed them as they don't look very exciting!
Your favourite Framelits, Thinlits and Edgelits can do so much more when paired with these embossing mats. Use them with dies that have decorative ejection holes for additional embossing or, use with cutting dies to emboss instead of cut.
Here is the completed card and envelope.
These projects have been very popular with my crafty ladies, they loved choosing which colour(s) they would like to use too. The most popular colour was Daffodil Delight!
Here are some of the cards that were made on Tuesday - don't they look fantastic?
Thanks to everyone who joined me this week. I have so many ideas for these stamps - the bird could well be making a return around Christmas as I think it looks like a dove. I will post details of the projects for next week over the weekend - we will be using items from the Graceful Glass Suite.
