Stampin' Up! Jump Start Christmas - Stamp 'N Hop 10/18

Hello and welcome to another Stamp 'n Hop blog hop!  This month we are jump starting Christmas - this is the  year I am going to be super organised; no last minute panics etc! (I have been say this for many years - I remain hopeful for 2018)!!

If you are starting the hop here with me welcome, I hope you enjoy my project. I am delighted this month to be following my SU Upline Mikaela who always shares such lovely projects.

I have a bit of a thing for leaves and trees - I love Autumn and a good swish through crisp and colourful leaves.  The new Winter Woods Bundle was an obvious choice for me; it was one of the first bundles I ordered from the Autumn / Winter Catalogue.  The tree stamps are known as photo realistic and, they certainly are!  I also love the fact that there are multiples of some dies - so much easier for mass production.

Here are the colours I used for my project - this is the first time I have used Merry Merlot.

I started by embossing a piece of card stock with the Corrugated TIEF.  This particular embossing folder is already a firm favourite - the depth and the texture is amazing.

Top Tip
This particular embossing folder 'eats' up the card.  To ensure you end up with an embossed piece of the correct size for your project cut card 1 - 2cm larger and then trim to fit after embossing.

(The front of my card is 10.5 x 14.5 cm so I cut my piece of card 12 x 16 cm).

I then stamped a panel of Very Vanilla with Black Memento ink using this stunning tree stamp.

I do like a bit of sparkle on my projects; I had already decided to use the new Merry Merlot and Copper Reversible Ribbon so the Bright Copper Shimmer Paint was perfect.

After shaking the bottle of paint, I placed a small amount onto a clean stamping block.  I added a small amount of water to it and, using a fine tip brush I added splatters to the trees.  You will have to trust me - it looks much sparklier in real life.

I used one of the coordinating dies to cut some vellum trees and adhered them using a small amount of Tombow on the ends of the trunks only.  I like the way the vellum trees add more dimension to the project this way but, if you prefer you can adhere them completely for a different look.

I hid the glue with some ribbon and used a tiny sentiment for Joyous Noel that was adhered with Mini Stampin' Dimensionals.

Now I really like this card but I decided that it needed a little something extra. After a bit of tweaking and sharp tugging I managed to tie a passable bow and have the same colour showing!

I also used some copper shimmer on the die cut elements too.  I think the bow is my favourite part of this project.

I also added some shimmery splatters to the inside of the card and the envelope - we crafter's don't like to waste anything you know!

I have a feeling that I will be using Merry Merlot again soon as it is such a lovely colour.  This card would also look lovely in many other colours too ... hmm I have a feeling I am going to be busy!

I have really enjoyed using the Winter Woods Bundle - there are so many great ideas on Pinterest, you can see some on my board here.

I will also be using it next week for my Coffee & Cards projects - come back soon for more ideas using this lovely bundle.

Next on the hop is Andre who is a Demo in New Zealand - I know he will have a great project to share with you.  Click the 'next' button below to visit Andre.  (If you  get lost along the way a list of participants can be found below).

Don't forget to leave a comment below - I love to read what you think of my projects.

Thanks for hopping along with us!
