Stampin' Up! Occasions Catalogue 2019 - Stamp 'N Hop 12/18

Hello, and welcome to the last blog hop for 2018 with Stamp 'N Hop! We are a group of Demonstrators from around the World who love to share our love of paper crafting.  If you are joining me from Pia, or are starting here with me, I hope you will find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

This month our brief was to use items from the upcoming Spring / Summer Occasion's Catalogue. So many lovely new goodies to play with ...

I have been using items all week for my Coffee & Cards sessions from the upcoming Gingham Gala Suite.

After pulling threads from this Flax Ribbon for our projects, this is what I was left with.

Well, I knew I wasn't going to waste this lovely 'home made' fringing so I decided to use it to add some texture and dimension to my project.

I decided I would use a lovely stamp and thinlits bundle from the upcoming Spring / Summer Catalogue called Beauty Abounds.

Do you like Butterflies?  I do and, there are lots and lots of them in this thinlits bundle; there are 20 thinlits in this set and most of them are butterflies!

Here are the colours I used for my project.

I adhered a 1cm strip of Botanical Butterflies Designer Series Paper along the edge of my card blank.  These papers are available during Sale-A-Bration which starts on January the 3rd.  Ask my how you can get these lovely papers for free!

I adhered the fringing along the front of the card using Tombow - love this glue; it sticks most things!

I then used some of the thinlits to cut some leaves from card stock.  I used one of the larger butterfly dies and snipped a single butterfly from the die cut piece for my card.

I used a lovely splodgy stamp to create a background for the butterfly using Balmy Blue ink.  This particular image reminds me of my all time favourite stamp set - Gorgeous Grunge!

I adhered the leaves on top of the fringing using a tiny dot of Tombow on just the end of the stems.  I like to add depth and dimension to my projects and adhering elements in this way allows you to shape the various elements a little.

I curled the wings of the butterfly around a pencil and adhered with a mini dimensional.

I added a trio of Balmy Blue Gingham Gala Sequins and my card was finished.

I also added a strip of DSP to the inside of my card with some stamped splodges and butterflies.

I chose not to add a sentiment to my card - I will be making a few of these to give as a gift to a friend this weekend - she has a bit of a thing for butterflies and always asks me to make cards that she can use for different occasions - hopefully, these will fit the bill.

It has been one of those weeks for me, you know the ones where you are constantly chasing your tail and being pulled every which way?  I only managed to finish this project 4 hours before the hop went live - talk about last minute (again)!

Next year I will be more organised although, to be fair, I say this every year.  I seem to do ok until around March and then things start to slip ...

Anyway, I hope you enjoyed my project - I would love you to leave a comment below to let me know what you think.

Next up is Tracy Marie from the US who I am sure has something wonderful to share with you.  If you get lost along the was a list of hop participants can be found below.

Details of the products I used for this project can be found below; some are not available until the 3rd of January.

Happy crafting - I will be back hopping with Stamp 'N Hop in 2019 sharing all things Stampin' Up!

Susan xx
