Sea of Textures SBTD 04/19

Welcome to another hop around the world with Stampers By The Dozen.  We are a group of Demonstrators who just love to share our passion for paper crafting using wonderful products from Stampin' Up!  If you are joining me from Judi or starting here with me, thanks for hopping with us - I hope you find lots of inspiration.

This month our theme is birthdays.  Isn't it strange how you seem to get clusters of birthdays all at once?  April and May are very busy months for me!

Lesley who is a member of my team of ducklings celebrated her birthday recently.  She particularly liked a Coffee & Cards project from a couple of weeks ago but was unable to join me as she was on holiday.  You can see the card I made HERE.

So I decided to give her the card she had admired along with a little something else for her birthday.

After checking with Lesley's daughter to find out what colours she had in her bathroom, I got to work stamping onto a piece of tissue paper.

After stamping the tissue, carefully tear around the edges of the stamped images.

Top Tip
Tearing the edges of the tissue creates a softer edge that melts easily into the candle.

Using my heat tool I carefully melted the tissue onto the base of the candle.

I placed the candle inside a cellophane bag and tied the top with some garden twine.

I used my favourite Scalloped Tag Topper Punch to create a simple tag.

I'm pleased to report that Lesley loved her card and gift!

If you have never tried stamping onto a candle before you can find lots of tutorials on Youtube or Pinterest.  Its great fun and always impresses; and it is very easy too!

Next up is Tricia who I am sure have something lovely to share with you.  Details of the items I used for this special project can be found below.

Thanks for hopping along with us!
