Stampers Showcase Blog Hop - masculine

Hello, welcome to another Stampers Showcase Blog Hop!  My name is Susan aka Craftyduckydodah and I live in beautiful Godmanchester in Cambridgeshire, UK.

If you are starting here with me or joining me from the very talented Kate, welcome - I hope you find lots of inspiration as you hop around with us.

This month our theme is 'masculine'.  I don't know about you but I sometimes find cards for men a bit tricky.  However, with the launch of the Come Sail Away Suite of products (page 144) in the Annual Catalogue things certainly became a lot easier!

So here is my card, well the front of it at least - there is a surprise on the inside.

Craftyduckydah!, Sailing Home, Stampin' Up! UK Independent Demonstrator Susan Simpson, Supplies available 24/7 from my online store, Twisted pop Card,

I used one of the Memories and More cards with some simple matting and layering of Night of Navy card and some Come Sail Away DSP.

I scuffed the edges of each layer and wrapped some of the lovely Night of Navy/Sahara Sand Baker's Twine around on side before adhering to the card front with dimensionals.  I added one of the Sail Away Trinkets; tied to the twine with a simple knot and then frayed the ends.

I made this card a couple of months ago after seeing one on Pinterest that had been created by the Pampered Stamper (Jackie Bultje).  I've not made one of these for several years but the tutorial that Jackie did was brilliant and so easy to follow.

Look what happens as you start to open it ...

The inside starts to pop and twist (hence the name)!

The mechanism continues until the card is fully opened out.

Having four extra panels on the inside of the card allows you to have lots of fun decorating.  Each of the panels on their own would make a lovely card  in their own right wouldn't they?

Both the inside pieces of the card have been decorated with DSP.  Each panel has a piece of scuffed edged DSP and a Stitched Oval and then I went to town with the all the die cut elements you can create using the Come Sail Away Suite.

There are so many fantastic elements in this stamp and die bundle.  Such as the compass needle shown above.

Or how about the ships' wheel die that cuts and embosses?  So many possibilities with the Suite - I have used it a lot already; its a keeper!

Best of all, the card actually fits into an envelope.  I'm not sure I would risk this in the post but as I know exactly who will be receiving this very soon I will deliver in person so it doesn't get damaged.

Next up is Rochelle from Stamping Flair in Australia - I'm sure she has something great to share with you.

Thanks again to Jackie for providing a brilliant tutorial.  If you have not made a Pop Twist card before why not give it a go?  Details of the products I used for this project can be found below.

Thanks for hopping along with us!

Susan xx
