Butterfly Gala & Beauty Abounds - stepped up

Here are the details for our final project this week using Butterfly Gala and Beauty Abounds.  This project serves up a real wow factor when you open it.

This card starts in a similar way to our first project this week - for our background, using a piece of thick Whisper White 5mm smaller than the card base, we stamped a background using the images from Beauty Abounds with Coastal Cabana, Daffodil Delight and Melon Mambo inks.

A simple Stitched Shape Framelit provides a base for the sentiment - in this instance I made the card for a friend who will be celebrating her birthday later this month.  We used a trio of stamped and punched butterflies to finish off the sentiment panel.  The wings of each butterfly have been curled and shaped.

So, a fairly simple and colourful card completed.

But wait a minute, I promised at the start of this post a card with a real wow factor.

We stamped 6 butterflies using the same ink colour and card stock and punched them out.

Each butterfly was carefully folded and scored in half.  Using Tombow, each butterfly was adhered with tiny dabs of glue in the right hand top corner.

Once the glue has dried, carefully open out the butterflies ...

With the butterflies stretched out, place on the inside of the card taking care to align the centre butterflies with the card crease.  Using Tombow, adhere the right hand half butterfly (in this instance, the Melon Mambo one).  Carefully concertina the butterflies on the right hand side of the card.  Place Tombow on the top butterfly (the Daffodil Delight one) and then close the card to adhere the final butterfly section.

I added the second part of the sentiment and also stamped some splodges to coordinate with the front of the card.
