Playful Penguins - stepped up

Here are the details for our final project this week using a fun stamp set called Playful Penguins.

We used my favourite Stitched Rectangle dies to cut a panel of water colour paper and used a sponge brayer to add Coastal Cabana ink.

To create the snow we used an Aqua Painter and flicked the nib against the lid.  Leave the water to reactivate the ink for several seconds and then blot with a piece of tissue.  I love this technique as you get different results every time.

We used a die from the Frosted Frames dies to cut this stunning frame (I am using it a lot at the moment) from Real Red card.  We used the new Ice Stampin' Glitter, adhered with Tombow to add lots of sparkle.

Top Tip
Use the glue sparingly so as not to overload the card as the Ice Glitter is quite chunky.

Cut the frame in half diagonally as shown below.  (I know the image is using Coastal Cabana - its for another project)!

Again using Tombow, adhere each piece to the back of the Stitched Rectangle panel aligning carefully.

Top Tip
Check to make sure the ends of the die cut fit on the card - I had to trim my prototype project a little!

We used dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card front.

The penguins have been stamped with Memento, fussy cut and adhered with dimensionals.

Their accessories have been stamped in Real Red, fussy cut and also adhered with dimensionals.

The sentiment was stamped onto a 1 cm strip of card and adhered with dimensionals too.

The inside of the card and the envelope have also been stamped.  If you are planning to post your card make sure you leave enough room on the envelope for the address!

These cheeky penguins certainly proved very popular; some of my crafty ladies even gave them names!  Thanks to everyone who joined me this week.  I will share details of the projects for next week over the weekend.

I'm back tomorrow hopping with the lovely ladies from Stampers By The Dozen - just need to finish my project lol!

Happy crafting.

Susan xx
