Poppy Moments Dies - Hopping Around The World

Hello and welcome to another Hopping Around The World Blog Hop!  This month our theme is flowers - I decided to use the Poppy Moments Dies for my project.

When I say I decided to use - I meant eventually decided to use!  I have many stamp sets with flowers and as I sat pondering I really could not decide which to use so I had a rethink.  Eventually, I decided I would not use stamps for the flowers of this challenge just these fabulous dies.

Here are the colours I used for my project.

Here is my project - I'm not sure what this technique is called - perhaps an inlaid die cut technique?

To create the Poppy Moments card

21 cm x 14.5 cm scored at 10.5 cm ww thick card
10 cm x 14 cm Basic Black card
9.9 cm x 13.9 cm ww thick card
Pieces of thick ww, Basic Black, Calypso Coral and Old Olive for the die cut elements.

To create the inlaid die cut panel
Use an assortment of dies on the black card piece. I deliberately placed some of the dies over the edge of the card.

Adhere the piece of thick ww card to the back of the die cut panel using Tombow.  You could, if you prefer adhere straight to the card base and miss this step out (I like to add dimension to my projects).

Cut a selection of pieces from the coloured card and adhere in the spaces.

Top Tip
I found it easier to apply dabs of Tombow to the card base rather than the die cut pieces.

Turn the panel over and trim off any overhanging pieces.

I used dimensionals to adhere the panel to the card base.  I used a stamp set called Label Me Bold for the sentiment.  I used Calypso Coral ink and trimmed each piece to leave a tiny white border.  I used mini dimensionals to adhere to the front of the card.

I had a couple of die cut pieces left over so, I decorated the inside with them.

This inlaid die cutting technique is a lot of fun; just think of all the die sets you have and think about using them in this way.  If you have children at home, perhaps this might be a good project for them to try too?

Next up is Maureen Rauchfuss from the USA who I am sure has a great project to share with us.
